Slumdog Millionaire : A Buoyant Hymn To Life

Slumdog Millionaire, a movie directed by Danny Boyle & co-directed by Loveleen Tandon is based on the story of Jamal, a young, uneducated man from the Dharavi slums of Mumbai who appears on the Indian version of "Who wants to be a millionaire" and comes out a winner with 20 million Rupees ( Rs. 2 Crore ) enthralling billions of Indians watching him live !

The story of a young man Jamal in search of his love, his destiny working his way through the extremities and hardships of the Slum reality of India. Jamal's answers to all the questions asked on the show seem to fit perfectly into a pattern where he was given all the answers as he progressed through different stages of his life, suggesting our destinies are written and through practicing 'attention' and 'intent' we create our own reality ! Slumdog Millionaire won five of the six awards it was nominated for at the Critics' Choice Awards and all four of the awards it was nominated for at the Golden Globes. It has also been nominated for eleven BAFTA Awards and ten Academy Awards.

The following clip from the movie shows young Jamal who is possibly the greatest fan of Amitabh Bachchan, one of India's finest actors and the host of "Kaun Banega Crorepati" the indian version of "Who wants to be a millionaire" ! Why do i think he could well be the greatest Amitabh Bachchan fan ever ... See for yourself in this clip from the movie ....
