The 'Wise Owl' Crop Circle formation appeared at Woodborough Hill, near Alton Barnes, Wiltshire .... Reported on the 10th of August 2009 !
The Owl is an ancient symbol for wisdom and deep inner knowledge of spirit ... Taking symbolism from the owl directly, it is noteworthy that it is a creature of the night. Nocturnal creatures are symbolic of inner-knowing, psychic ability, and intuition – so too is the Owl.
The Owl is the bringer of wisdom. The all-seeing owl possesses supernatural qualities and is often associated with intuition, clairvoyance and clairaudience. The Owl’s energy is at its peak in the very heart of darkness. When we are plunged into blindness and disorientation. He penetrates the darkness of the blackest night. Seeing and hearing that which others cannot.

In ancient Egyptian, Celtic, and Hindu cultures the symbolic meaning of Owl revolved around guardianship of the underworlds, and a protection of the dead.

The Owl is sacred to the Greek goddess of learning, Athena and is even depicted on some Greco-Roman currency as a symbol of status, intelligence and of course, wealth.
It should be clear that the Owl was honored as the keeper of spirits who had passed from one plane to another. Often myth indicates the Owl accompanying a spirit to the underworld - winging it's newly freed soul from the physical world into the realm of spirit.
Native Americans associated the meaning of Owl with wisdom, foresight, and keeper of sacred knowledge. This may largely be due to the fact that the owl is a great foreteller of weather conditions. Also its ability to see at night is legend among the Native Americans, and this attribute would be invoked during ceremonies when an oracle of secret knowledge was required.
Similarly, West African and Aboriginal Australian cultures viewed the owl as a messenger of secrets, kin to sorcerers, as well as companions to seers, mystics and medicine people.

Heidi Ho: wow, I was in avebury the 25.7 to see cropcircles and to do the wansdykepath meditation. I was alone at the adam and eve stones 9.45 till midnight, a owl came sit on the eve stone and flew direct to me till one m before my face turned and sit on the adam stone, many orbs where also there. My next step I "have to" do, I'll go to the bosnian pyramids......I'll be there 9.9.9.......
