Humans as emotional beings go through various emotions of joy, happiness, stress, excitement and many more. We always associate emotions as a psychological thing. But, do you know that the emotions we feel are a complex play of the endocannabinoid system as well as hormones?

This article is an attempt to detail more about the endocannabinoid system, hormones and emotions and how a balance/ imbalance of these three affect the human body.

What is the Endocannabinoid system (ECS)?

The ECS is a self regulating system responsible for establishing and supporting our health. It regulates various physiological and cognitive processes including appetite, mood, fertility, pain, and memory. Its receptors are located throughout the body. Read more about how ECS works here.

The given image shows that the ECS has receptors CB1 and CB2, which are present in different areas of the body.

Hormones, Emotions and the Endocannabinoid System

Hormones are chemical messengers released by the body. These messengers relay messages to specific receptors in the body, which in turn triggers emotions. There are many receptors for hormones in the body including CB1 and CB2. Specific hormones act on the ECS receptors and trigger emotions. Detailed below are the actions of some of the hormones.

Acetylcholine - This hormone is produced by the neurons within the body and is the natural neurotransmitter of the nervous system. It’s job is to produce contraction of skeletal muscles and inhibit the contractions of the heart. This hormone affects the CB1 receptor and triggers the emotion of “I remember.”

Anandamide- Produced in the cell membranes, this hormone reduces hypertension, depression, fear and anxiety. It inhibits the movement of cancer cells and prevents metastasis without negative effects on the immune system. It acts on both CB1 and CB2 receptors and triggers the emotion of “I am at ease”.

Serotonin- This hormone is made in the digestive tract and the central nervous system. It is a neurotransmitter that helps in appetite regulation and bowel movements. This hormone acts on the CB2 receptor and triggers the emotion of “happiness”.

Epinephrine- Produced by adrenal glands the main job of this hormone is to create the fight or flight response. However, if the levels of epinephrine are high in the body it can raise blood pressure, heart rate, and also cause weight loss. This hormone also acts on the CB1 receptor and triggers the emotion of “fright”.

Oxytocin- This hormone is produced in the hypothalamus. Its main job is to stimulate uterine contraction during delivery and stop post-partum bleeding. Research says that lack of oxytocin can also be responsible for autism, eating disorders, social anxiety, schizophrenia and depression. It acts on the CB1 receptor and causes the emotion “I feel for you.”

These are just a few that have been detailed. Conditions like parkinson's, ADHD, autism, depression, insomnia, anxiety, schizophrenia and many more have also been linked to emotions and hormones. Well, it is obvious that our emotional condition not only determines our mental state but also the physical state.

How can this knowledge help us ?

Understanding the interplay of emotions, hormones, and illnesses can be a beacon of light for many (especially the layman). When we experience too many negative or stressful emotions, one need not panic. It helps us interpret that the negative emotion that we are facing is indicative of something not being right.

What is important is that we do not ignore our emotions when they linger for long especially the negative ones. It is best to deal with them and seek help at the right time.

Can Cannabis Help ?

The logical mind will question if cannabis can help treat any of the above-mentioned health problems. The answer is yes! Cannabis can help.

Depression, anxiety, insomnia, Parkinson's are some of the conditions where research has proven that Cannabis can make a difference and reduce the symptoms. Read more about how cannabis can help treat depression.

Conclusion

Unraveling the endocannabinoid system will help us interpret the changes in our body and mind and deal with it appropriately.

Many long time Cannabis tokers around the world have known that mixing Tobacco with Cannabis is a bad idea hence only smoke the herb in its purest available form. This habit of mixing Tobacco with Cannabis is more of a European thing and has become popular around the world thanks to the inclusion of Charas or Hashish in the smoking scene. Although Charas and Hash both can be smoked in their pure form, many prefer mixing it with some tobacco to make the joint burn smoothly or give the experience of fullness of smoke when smoked in a pipe(chillum). This habit of mixing tobacco makes us crave something to smoke even more. For many years I was mixing tobacco with cannabis and rolling my spliffs, justifying it for all the BS reasons possible. But the truth is that Tobacco is so addictive, however is legal, so there is less of a social stigma associated with it and since its easily available and priced nominally as compared to weed prices worldwide, most people mix it up, thinking its gonna make their stash last longer, however end up smoking way too much than one needs, if one was smoking it pure.

Its been a few months now since I quit Tobacco for good and life has been so different in all ways possible. From the time I wake up ... I noticed there was no craving to smoke like its been for so many years. Even switching to cleaner tobacco like American Spirit, Pueblo or Manitou ... may seem like a healthier option, however the nicotine cravings don't go away until you just stop mixing the two. So now, its just the pure herb in a glass pipe which helped me easily transition from being a heavy roller to an occasional toker allowing me to focus on more important things in life like staying healthy following a good diet and lifestyle.

I started cycling and within no time the focus quickly shifted from chasing hits and doobies to sweating it out and feeling more power in your being accomplishing more life enhancing goals. Any kind of physical activity which makes one sweat and exercise their complete body is the need of the hour. The feeling you get after a physical workout is beyond any other substance induced high. One can still toke Cannabis occasionally to relax and chill after a long day, taking power from a habit that has been draining us for many years. Cannabis doesn't have any harmful effect on the lungs and has been scientifically proven to actually increase lung expansion and breathing capacity while easing physical pain and calming things down at all levels of our being.

We tend to follow collective habitual patterns as we usually smoke socially in closed circles and groups and the habit is self perpetuating as long as we are hanging out in the same circles. Life is all about changes and once we make those shifts with our habits, we will start to notice how we've been foolishly wasting away a lot of precious herb, time and our health along the way. I've been intending to put this out there just as a reminder to any of you who are looking to make serious changes in your life by choosing differently. All we really have in this plane of existence is our physical being and we have the power and responsibility to improve the quality of our lives by simply choosing better options.

You don't really have to wait for your body to start showing you signs of discomfort and disease before you can make the switch to smoking pure herb. Just stop mixing the two and use a small glass pipe or any other pipe that's easy to clean and toke away just like old times when we held the smoke in for a bit, for a proper hit ! :D

Medical use of Marijuana Concentrates

What is dabbing and how does it work? How can it help those who use medical marijuana? We answer these and many more questions in the article below.

You may have heard about dabs. What are they? This is what marijuana concentrates are called, and ‘dabbing’ is the process of concentrates vaporization. What are concentrates, then? They are basically marijuana extracts that are much more powerful than dried herb (the concentration of cannabinoids might reach 90%), from which the plant material has been removed. Concentrates are usually goldish, sticky substances, but they may vary in terms of looks and texture. There are many different methods of making concentrates, but they can all be divided into two main groups: concentrates made with the use of solvents (such as butane, carbon dioxide or glycerine) and those made with no solvents – so-called solventless concentrates.

The production process of concentrates made with the use of solvents is usually much more complicated. First of all, there is a risk of explosion (especially if you use butane). Secondly, the final product must be precisely cleaned of any remains of the solvent. One of the best examples of such a product is RSO oil – the most popular concentrate in USA. If it comes from illegal sources, there is always a high chance that it is contaminated with solvents. On the opposite end, there are concentrates made without solvents. They can be obtained by pressing resin from plants (to get so-called rosin) or in the process of dry-sift, where you filter pieces of plant through a series of sieves with an increasingly fine mesh, in order to completely separate the plant material. There are also concentrates that don’t contain THC and are legal in many countries, e.g. CBD crystals. Their vaporization is a much cheaper alternative to the widely popular but very expensive CBD oils.

How are concentrates consumed ?

Concentrates can obviously be added to a joint or to the blowpipe of a bong, but it’s a waste of material – the majority of cannabinoids will get damaged due to the high temperature. The right way to consume concentrates is through vaporization, which is the evaporation of cannabinoids without burning of the substance. ‘Some portable vaporizers, such as Mighty Vaporizer, let you vaporize both dry herbs and concentrates. However, the most efficient vaporization of concentrates is guaranteed by the devices designed especially for this type of substances’ – says Jonathan Weed, a vaporization expert. These devices are already available in online VapeFully store with vaporizers. Whether you use the RSO oil, a home-made rosin concentrate, or you have access to high-quality, imported, BHO concentrates, vaporization is always the most comfortable method of their absorption.

Benefits of Concentrate Vaporization

Concentrates are very popular among those who use marijuana for recreational purposes, but patients who need it for medical reason can also make the most of their potential. What are the advantages of concentrates over dry herbs? First of all, they provide much faster results. You don’t need to spend a quarter of an hour to properly grind the herbs, load the vaporizer and have an inhalation session. ‘When you use concentrates, you just apply a small amount of the substance into your vaporizer, take one or two draws and you get an instant and powerful medical effect. The whole process takes less than a minute and the fast relief it provides is priceless in the case of those patients who suffer from pain, convulsions or nausea’ – explains Jonathan Weed from www.VapeFully.com. The results offered by concentrates are not only faster but also stronger – patients who need a high dose of cannabinoids find it much more comfortable to take in those amounts through concentrates. Instead of consuming a few grams of marijuana – which requires dozens of draws with vapor or smoke – they simply have to take a few draws of vapor produced from a few dozens, up to a few hundreds of milligrams of concentrates. Concentrates vaporization, just like in the case of dried herbs, is not associated with any health risk, such as lungs disease or toxins absorption, which is an inherent element of smoking. Dabbing also allows for a very precise dosing of concentrates – the patient can take just one draw, check the results and decide whether it’s necessary to continue the inhalation or not.

Risk related to Concentrates

Some inexperienced users, especially those who have only tried dried herbs, underestimate the power of concentrates. While it’s practically impossible to overdose THC, the consumption of an excessive quantity of cannabinoids can result in a range of unpleasant symptoms, such as the feeling of heaviness, drowsiness, anxiety or disorientation. If you are aware of the power of concentrates and take them in limited amounts, you are on the safe side. For some users, the phenomenon of tolerance might be a problem – your body builds the tolerance to concentrates much faster than in the case of dried herbs, so you need to increase the dose from time to time. However, just a few days of a break lets you lower the tolerance to cannabinoids. The biggest problem in terms of concentrates is their quality, especially in those countries, where concentrates are illegal. It’s doubtful that concentrates made in amateur conditions, rather than in professional laboratories, get properly cleaned of the solvents used in the process. Until then, it’s much safer to choose the solventless concentrates, especially that you can easily make them at home. For example, rosin concentrates can be made with the use of a safe Tarik+Rosin T-Rex Press. It lets you make your own concentrate within minutes, the final product is entirely safe for your health and requires no filtering.

Concentrates – the future of medical marijuana?

Taking into consideration the huge potential of concentrates in the field of medical use of cannabinoids, we might assume that they have a bright future. The majority of medical marijuana distribution points in the USA are already selling more concentrates than dried herbs and this trend seems to be growing.

Why you should collect herbs after vaporization and what is ABV

Once you’ve used your herbs for vaporization, you shouldn’t bin them! Find out from this article why it’s worth collecting vaporized herb and how you can use it. Many people underestimate the potential of such herb, which is a pity because it’s a source of precious cannabinoids and it can be used to make a lot of interesting things.

Already Been Vaped (ABV) herbs have dark-brown color and a typical, dry scent that’s completely different to the smell of fresh marijuana. Many people who use vaporizers collect ABV to use it in one of the ways we describe below. First, let’s talk a bit about ABV itself. How can it be useful if cannabinoids have already been evaporated from it during the vaporization process? If it makes sense using ABV, does it mean that vaporization is less effective than smoking, where you get only ash? Well, it’s just the opposite! Vaporization is much more efficient than smoking, but it doesn’t mean that we can absorb all the cannabinoids from the herbs. How to solve this contradiction? When you smoke, the majority of cannabinoids gets destroyed due to a very high temperature, so we can absorb only about 20% of the active substances. The rest simply goes to waste. When you vaporize, you can absorb – depending on the vaporizer model – from 50 to 80% of cannabinoids from the herbs (according to research, the most efficient device for cannabinoids extraction is Volcano Vaporizer which is a desktop vaporizer). The rest of cannabinoids, which is between 20 and 50% of the initial amount still remains in the ABV. Since no burning process is involved in vaporization, ABV is in fact simply brownish, overdried marijuana that can be still reused. What’s more, while being vaporized, marijuana undergoes the process of decarboxylation, which activates THC that can be then absorbed by alimentary route. When you want to bake cookies from fresh marijuana, the herb has to undergo a thermal treatment first (e.g. it must be heated in the oven) so that it gets decarboxylated. In the case of ABV, there’s no need to do it – the material is practically ready to consume. Bear in mind that ABV doesn’t taste great. That’s why the majority of users don’t eat it on its own and they prefer to use it in other forms.

Before you start experimenting with ABV, you should remember that the potential of such herbs is different in every case and it depends on many factors, such as the strength and quality of the material you use for vaporization and how long it has been vaporized. Normally, ABV that’s slightly lighter will be more powerful, but even very dark brown ABV can still contain a lot of THC. A lot depends on the type of vaporizer you use, too. If you use a device like G Pen Snoop Dogg, it makes no sense at all to collect ABV because these are not real vaporizers as they burn the material. However, if you have Mighty Vaporizer, which is a portable vaporizer, the device will be able to extract almost 70% of the THC from the herbs. How long you have to wait before you see the results of the ABV you’ve consumed is also unpredictable. Some users feel the first signs after an hour within consumption and for the following few hours they will experience some moderate results. Others might have to wait 3 hours before they notice anything, and the strong effect will last for more than a day. The most important variables in this aspect are how powerful the ABV is, how you consumed it and what your personal level of cannabinoids tolerance is. What consumption methods can you choose from?

ABV capsules – lazy style

Capsules are one of the easiest ways to consume ABV. All you need are empty, gelatine capsules from the pharmacy (you fill them yourself), a few grams of ABV and (optionally) a few drops of vegetable oil or olive oil. Grind your ABV as finely as you can and fill the capsules with it. You can add a few drops of vegetable oil or olive oil to it (THC mixes with fat), then simply swallow the capsules. ‘The number of capsules you should swallow is a guess you have to make – nobody knows how many you need to take before you get the expected results or how long they will take to cause the effects. That’s why the results you’ll get after you swallow this type of capsules are completely unpredictable’ – says an expert from VapeFully. Capsules method is not very efficient, even though sometimes just a few capsules can give some really strong results. To sum up, capsules are a good method when you have a lot of ABV collected, you are not afraid of any unexpected results of consumption and you don’t feel like using any more complicated method of consumption.

ABV and peanut butter sandwich

A sandwich with peanut butter and ABV is another simple way to consume ABV: just spread a generous amount of peanut butter on a piece of bread and sprinkle some ABV on top of it. The fat from peanut butter will mix with THC so it will be easier to absorb the cannabinoids. In this case, the amount of ABV you need to use isn’t clear, either, and you have to experiment a bit. A sandwich with ABV and peanut butter has one more drawback – ABV doesn’t taste great and even though you mix the ingredients, you still eat it ABV unprocessed. A sandwich, however, guarantees stronger results than capsules with ABV.

Cannabinoids extraction for ABV

The extraction of THC from ABV is a more advanced option. In this case, you don’t have to eat the used material. While this is a more complicated method, it’s still quite simple. One of the ways of extracting THC from ABV is making the so-called cannabutter – ABV-based butter. On the internet, there are many tutorials that explain in detail how to make such product. Cooking ABV in coconut oil provides even better results – place ABV in a heat-resistant dish, cover it with coconut oil and keep it in the same temperature, ideally around 50 degrees Celcius, for a few hours (the longer, the better). It’s best to do it in the oven or in a slow cooker. You need to stir the mixture regularly. The next step is straining ABV through a coffee filter – you get an exceptionally powerful oil that can be used e.g. for baking cookies. You can also add it to your coffee or simply drink it on its own. Regardless of which extraction method you choose, it’s very important that you maintain a stable temperature and heat it in fat for a long enough time. ‘From all the ABV consumption methods, the extracts definitely provide the best results, both in terms of the potency and the experience you have after you consume them’ – adds Jonathan Weed, who runs VapeFully store with vaporizers.
Be careful with portions!

ABV dosage is always accompanied by a risky element of surprise, which we’ve already mentioned above – it simply requires experimenting. The results are a very individual thing – one person can have a powerful experience with just one gram of ABV, while someone else will have to take 5 grams before he or she feels anything. That’s why if you decide to consume ABV in the form of e.g. cookies, start with one, wait to see if it works and then reach for another one if you feel that you need it. You can obviously eat more cookies straight away, but make sure that you have a lot of free time (e.g. during the weekend) because the results might last for quite a while. Don’t worry, however, about overdosing – it’s impossible with ABV so all you risk is staying really high for a long time.

Even though vaporizers have been available on the market for a few years, marijuana users still know very little about them. In this article, we present various types of vaporizers that can be used for vaping marijuana and we talk about pros and cons of each model.

A lot of marijuana users are convinced that the majority of vaporizers are not good enough for vaping dried herbs and that they should be used only with liquids that contain THC. This is a myth. The liquids of this type are designed for e-cigarettes, while vaporizers are designed for vaping dried herbs and dabs (marijuana concentrates). Some vaporizers created for dried herbs vaporization feature a special insert for concentrates vaporization. You can also place a small amount of concentrate between two layers of dried herbs. Note that concentrates aren’t a product that’s available only in American pharmacies – you can relatively easily make them at home.

Portable vaporizers for dried herbs

Dried herbs vaporizers are the most popular devices, probably because the herbs are so widely available. It’s the easiest solution for weed fans. These devices are very easy to use because you don’t need to process the herbs in any way. All you have to do is just grind the herbs a bit. Then, you place them in the heating chamber and once the device reaches the right temperature, you can start inhaling.

One of the most important benefits of using this kind of vaporizers is the flavour and aroma you experience. If you’re not a fan of tobacco, you’ll be amazed – the flavour of vapor from a vaporizer is way better than the flavour of smoke from a joint made with weed and tobacco. And there’s more! It’s even better than the flavour of marijuana smoked without tobacco! Discreetness plays an important role, too. Vaporizers produce no smoke, just vapor that has a much less intense aroma and disappears really fast. What’s more, a joint burns and releases smell all the time, which is not the case when you use a vaporizer. You can notice the smell only in the moment of the actual vaporization. When you smoke, a large amount of THC gets damaged due to the high temperature, which you can avoid by vaporizing the herbs. This means that vaporization is a much more economic method than smoking.

Vaporization is the healthiest possible form of marijuana consumption. First of all, when you vaporize, you don’t inhale carcinogenic tar substances because no burning process takes place. All the available scientific research clearly indicate that vaporization is incomparably better for your health than marijuana, regardless of your preferred smoking method – pipe, joints or a bong. By far, the best combination is a vaporizer with a water filter. This solution lets you cool the vapor down properly and makes it thicker so the inhalation is much more comfortable. Compared to concentrates vaporizers, the models designed for herbs use require more time before you can start the inhalation (a few minutes). They also provide a less intense experience than the ones you can use with concentrates. Basically, an easy inhalation takes more time – normally a few minutes – just like when you smoke a joint. If you want to have a solution that will let you evaporate marijuana faster, you can use an on-demand vaporizer. They heat up within seconds and let you take a few quick drags in a very short time.

Whatever method you choose, a concentrate will always provide a stronger experience than dried herbs. However, vaping herbs has its pros - the user can fully control the intensity of the inhalation and he/she can continue or stop at the right moment. With concentrates, due to the high concentration of THC, you can get really high after just a few draws, which is not always the nicest feeling. ‘The best vaporizers for herbs that are currently available on the market are PAX 3 Vaporizer (a model with 10-year warranty), Mighty Vaporizer, DaVinci IQ Vaporizer and AirVape XS. Among on-demand models, the ones that stand out are Magic Flight Launch Box and Firefly 2’ – says Ryszard Fazowski from VapeFully that sells premium class vaporizers.

E-liquid vaporizers

These devices aren’t actually vaporizers. They are regular e-cigarettes used with an e-liquid enriched with cannabinoids. You can get this kind of liquids in pharmacies and shops in those countries where marijuana is legal. In other places, users can relatively easily create their own liquid with THC – there are many English-language tutorials on the internet that tell you how to do it. “Liquids of this type are really powerful and allow for some discreet inhalations. However, you can’t use them in vaporizers designed for vaping herbs or concentrates” – continues Jonathan Weed from VapeFully.

Concentrates vaporizers

Concentrates, called dabs, are concentrated extracts from marijuana. They can have various forms: liquid (honey oil), wax (wax, badder, rosin) or be solid (shatter, crumble). This type of substances is currently extremely popular in the USA and Canada and they’re gaining popularity all over Europe. No surprise – they are very strong (the THC concentration can reach even 90%, compared to 20-25% in the weakest varieties of herbs). Even the most seasoned users can achieve some really impressive results using these substances. What’s more, you only need 2-3 draws to get satisfying results (you get really high).

It’s quite easy to make this type of concentrate at home – you can use butane or the so-called non-solvent technique. In the first case, you soak herbs in butane in order to extract cannabinoids. As a result, you get golden oil that – depending on the technique you use – turns into wax or a solid concentrate. This method isn’t the safest solution for the inexperienced users because it’s relatively easy to cause an explosion. A much easier and safer option is the so-called rosin technique – you use a hair straightener and a piece of parchment to squeeze the resin out of the herbs. You can also use a special press designed for this purpose.

Apart from being powerful, concentrates are really tasty and aromatic - thanks to a wide range of terpenes they contain. Concentrates are not made for regular smoking. Even though you can technically do it, it would be a great waste because a very high temperature destroys the majority of THC. You can use concentrates in a specially designed water pipe converted into a vaporizer (a so-called dab rig), electronic vaporizers with a water filter (e-nail) and some very small, pen-shaped vaporizers (vape pen). Some models originally created for herbs vaporization do a really good job at concentrates vaporization, too. One of the less expensive devices of this type is Storm Vaporizer. The above-mentioned PAX 3 Vaporizer and Firefly 2 are worth trying, too. The popularity of vaporizers will be growing at an impressive pace now – you´ll see for yourself!

Handling Marijuana Is Often More Difficult Than Major Psychedelics

In the fight for the legalization of various drugs, many people are under the impression that marijuana should be legalized before other types of drugs. Their thinking presumes marijuana is an easier type of psychedelic for people to handle, so it should become legal before more major psychedelics should. This certainly seems like sound logic, doesn’t it?

Indeed, it is the common belief of most that marijuana provides a mellow experience, rather than the intense psychedelic experience that comes from other drugs. That is not always the case, however. It is, in fact, the opinion of many users of various psychedelics (including marijuana) that weed can be a lot harder to handle. They claim that psychedelic overdose can be handled and is well understood, but a marijuana overdose is shrouded in confusion and misconceptions, and therefore is more dangerous when an overdose occurs.

What is a Psychedelic Overdose ?

There is a lot of confusion that accompanies the idea of a “marijuana overdose” or a “psychedelic overdose.” Many people believe it does not occur, while others imagine it to be the exact same experience as an overdose of hard drugs, like cocaine or heroine. For the sake of this article, a psychedelic overdose is not exactly the same kind of overdose as would be experienced with alcohol or other drugs. The main difference between a psychedelic overdose and a hard drug overdose is that they are not fatal at all -- the overdose is simply a stronger experience than the user would like. In other words, it might overwhelm a person's threshold.

Just like alcohol users learn to avoid a hangover, psychedelic users learn how to avoid this “overdose.” Simply being familiar with your personal limits, and keeping tabs on how much you take is usually sufficient. Also, be sure to consume in a safe environment, in case the experience is more than you bargained for. In fact, psychedelics are better to overdose on than other drugs for another reason: the overdose can be turned around into a positive, transformative trip if the surrounding environment is a good one.

The Marijuana Overdose

Perhaps the main problem that surrounds understanding marijuana overdose is the fact that everyone thinks it’s an easier drug to handle, so it is taken much more casually, without planning or second thoughts. The fact that marijuana is usually consumed via smoking rather than ingesting it (such as with most psychedelics) means that its effects occur much more rapidly. It is said that the faster a drug affects a person, the stronger the addiction is to that drug. This, for instance, is the reason heroine overpowers opium in addictiveness.

With marijuana, many of the people smoking it really enjoy the act of smoking. This means that, even once they have gotten to the point of being at the “right” level of high, they will just continue smoking because they enjoy it. They likely would not do the same thing if they were using tinctures or consuming marijuana edibles, for example.

Another reason a marijuana overdose can be difficult to deal with is the fact that a person who is overdosing will seem fine to everyone else. While their emotions begin to spiral in fearful, confusing directions, they won’t receive the care they need because they look fairly normal. A psychedelic overdose, on the other hand, makes the person look obviously unwell, meaning the proper care will be taken.

Proper Marijuana Education is Needed

Ultimately, the main problem that comes from marijuana during the present day is the fact that people are not accurately educated about the drug. If everyone learns about limits and smoking safely, these overdosing issues can easily be avoided. It should not be a more complicated issue than with major psychedelic drugs, and we can make it that way through education.

As marijuana becomes more widespread and legalized across the nation, we truly need to address this issue. The new technologies allowing for concentrated doses is just another reason why people need to fully understand what they are consuming similar care to how we treat major psychedelics. Most things are good in moderation, we should focus on defining what that is.

India seems to be making some serious head way to legalize Cannabis in a country which has always revered the sacred plant for its spiritual and medicinal qualities.

Advocate Aditya Barthakur has filed a public interest litigation (PIL) in the Bombay high court challenging the criminalisation of cannabis under Indian law, based on the fact that none of six government organs he queried had any idea about how the herb is harmful to the human body.

The high court has issued notices to the central and state governments, reported the Express.

Barthakur last year filed a Right to Information (RTI) request seeking medical or scientific reasons for how the consumption of Cannabis in any form is harmful to humans.

He filed this request first with the ministry of health and family welfare from where it traveled, through transfer by the department, to the department of health research, the Indian Council of Medical Research and finally to the national institute of nutrition which replied to Barthakur with an excerpt, allegedly, copy-pasted from the website of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of New Jersey.

Barthakur then filed an RTI with the same query with the legislative department of the law ministry, which transferred it to the department of revenue which replied to Barthakur with the word "NIL".

Barthakur also filed an RTI on the same query with the Law Commission of India next, which transferred it to the ministry of health and family welfare from where it once again followed the same transfer route as before, until it landed with the home ministry which forwarded it to one of its divisions (an "IS-II division").

Barthakur also filed the same RTI with the Central Bureau of Narcotics, adding in it the further query that what is the basis of the law prohibiting Cannabis under the NDPS Act 1985 if there are no medical or scientific reasons as were asked for. The Bureau replied to him with a reproduction of the NDPS Act provisions criminalising Cannabis.

He then filed the criminal writ petition making all the queried government organs respondents along with the union of India and the state of Maharashtra. In the writ petition Bathakur produces research, such as British Commission reports containing mythological texts which note the medical and other benefits of the Cannabis plant, including curing cancer.

The 34-year-old lawyer, who is appearing in person in the writ petition, concluded it with an Atharvaveda Sloka:

To the five kingdoms of the plants which Soma rules as Lordwe speak.Darbha, hemp, barley, mighty power: may these deliver us from woe.

He prayed in his petition:

The Hon’ble Court be pleased to declare, the defining and penal provisions, in relation to Cannabis, of The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and inclusion of Cannabis in Schedule I, Entry (2) of The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and inclusion of Cannabis at Sl. Cannabis currently occupies an uncertain position under Indian criminal law, which allows certain forms of it to be consumed, also during religious festivals such as Holi.

For the first time since Cannabis was made illegal in 1985, people in India are waking up to the truth about this great plant and its medicinal and therapeutic potential and coming together to ask our senile government why is Cannabis still illegal in India while many countries across the world and about 20 states in the US have either fully or partially legalized Cannabis or at least decriminalized the use of it, treating it more like a health issue based on personal choice rather treating it like a crime.

It was a great honor to be at the 1st conference on Cannabis Legalization in India, however it would have never come to this in the first place if it weren't for a few greedy people who keep their own interests before the health and well being of us people who are forced to buy into inane, nonsensical law we never agreed to in the first place.

The conference kicked off with Viki Vaurora who leads 'The Great Legalization Movement of India' presenting the case for Cannabis legalization in India. He discussed the rich history of Cannabis in India, quoting the Vedas and other ancient Indian texts and scriptures.

The conference room at the venue, Alliance Francais, Bangalore was packed with Cannabis enthusiasts from all walks of life. It was heart warming to see people speak their truth and how Cannabis has affected them positively even when used just as a dietary supplement included in salads and other delicious recipes. There were people supporting the use of Hemp based products, people who knew certain loopholes in the law and how we could get a licence from the Excise Commission of India .. within some section called L6 or something which a gentleman called Shekhar from the audience brought out.

Rick Simpson, the man who cured himself from Cancer using Cannabis oil after doctors gave up on him was the next to speak after Viki had introduced the audience to the agenda of the conference. He shared many examples of how Cannabis oil has helped many folks combat serious ailments without having to go through the horrors of our modern medical industry.

There was a couple from Bangalore whose child had suffered from seizures due to a bad vaccine reaction and his health started to deteriorate rapidly. After going from pillar to post all around Bangalore asking the top most Neurosurgeons what could be done to get their boy back, they reached no answers. After a while they came across Cannabis Oil as a potential cure for his seizures which was also shown in a separate video at the conference describing the case of a young girl suffering from seizures who responded really well to Cannabis Oil and started to show signs of improvement.

Someone from the audience said they recently read an article in the newspaper (Bangalore) about how it is legal to grow Cannabis plants at home until they reach the stage when seeds start to form and buds begin to appear on the plant. The same person who shared this story at the conference happens to be a grandmother of 6, also uses Cannabis leaves in her Salads on a regular basis.

Viki Vaurora, the man behind The Great Legalization Movement of India spoke to the audience straight from the heart, as it is without any inhibition at all ... sharing the truth as he knows it. His responses to some of the questions from the audience during the Q & A session were applauded by all the 200 odd people attending the conference in unison. Never have I been to a gathering of this kind, supporting a cause often overlooked and avoided by most people, for most part. Glad to know things are really moving forward now, with more people awakening to the bigger picture ...

30 years of marijuana being illegal, India now for Marijuana Legalisation Movement

With several countries in the world, including Uruguay and some states in the USA, legalising marijuana (cannabis), the movement has finally found a foothold in India. The first-ever conference in India for the legalisation of Marijuana will be held in Bengaluru on May 10, although the venue is yet to be finalised.

The Great Indian Legalisation Movement will organise Medical Cannabis Conferences across four cities - Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai and Delhi on consecutive weekends in May. The seating has been limited to 200 people for the Bengaluru conference.

Organised by Viki Vaurora, a 23-year-old musician and recording engineer, the event will focus on the medicinal properties of the plant.

"Countries like Israel and Netherlands have been researching the medicinal value of the plant for years. It has proven to help people with cancer, diabetes, leukaemia and bipolar disorder. To top it, cannabis is easily available in nature and easily accessible," says Vaurora who experienced the effects of marijuana while studying music production in London and says it helped him overcome depression.

One of the guests who will be speaking at the conference will be Rick Simpson, the founder of Phoenix Tears, who was the first person to extract concentrated cannabis oil for the purpose of treating cancer. He claims to have used it to cure several people with the oil.

"The event is exclusively organised for doctors, media and (senior) students " says Vaurora, adding: "Cannabis has been a part of Indian culture since the Vedic times and plays a role in Ayurveda. It was only in 1961 that United States tried to bully India into making it illegal and under the Rajiv Gandhi government in 1984 they made it a Class-A drug clubbing it with cocaine and heroin. Now, many states in the US have started making it legal. I don't see why we should be victims to such draconian laws."

The cannabis flower not only has medical properties but its stem too can be used to make hemp fibre which can used in the making of clothes, ropes and even hemp plastic, Vaurora explains while pointing out that Henry Ford made a car entirely out of hemp in 1941. "I don't think the government has the right to tell people what they can consume and what they can't, especially when they allow companies to openly sell tobacco and alcohol which are proven to be harmful to an individual. Marijuana on the other hand doesn't have adverse effects and isn't addictive either," Vaurora says .

He stopped smoking marijuana when he moved back to India three years ago and hasn't smoked since. He points out to the destruction of over 60,000 acres of marijuana plantation in Himachal Pradesh and the North East where it is abundantly grown. He alleges that big pharma companies and the European Union are paying the government to destroy the crops.

The stiff resistance towards sharing the truth about Cannabis and all its potential benefits in the media is proof that someone doesn't want the world to find out that its being lied to systematically by our so called governments and law makers for so many years. They still continue to suppress all natural cures while making the population sick with toxic food and an unhealthy lifestyle while providing temporary relief through pharmaceutical drugs which do more damage in the long run than most are inclined to believe. Ted Talks and TEDx have been censoring and banning certain videos because 'someone' thought this information isn't for the masses. Thankfully in today's world of the internet it is hard to keep the truth hidden for too long.

In this article, Mike Zappy transcribes the contents of a talk on cannabis and how it's going to change 'life as we know it' that he had intended to deliver at a Tedx event in Boca Raton. The text was approved by the organizers and Zappy was scheduled into the event but a few days later he received an email from the same organizers cancelling his talk. They said that 'Boca Raton was not ready for a talk about cannabis'.

Zappy wants to take a stand against what he believes is the hypocrisy of Tedx, an event that is supposed to break barriers, and is publishing his talk in full here.

Mike “Zappy” Zapolin
I’m here today to explain to you “How Cannabis is Going to Change Life as We Know It,” and why you don’t need to be afraid.

What I’m speaking to you about is somewhat controversial, but also inevitable … so what I’d like to do is help get everyone over their fear of what cannabis is and what it isn’t.

For the last 25 years I have wanted to be in the cannabis business, but never really wanted to go to jail so I just waited. I always knew there was something positive about it beyond its psychoactive effect; something intuitively told me that there was a healing component to it. Unfortunately there was nothing concrete for me to point to; the plant was made illegal back in the 1930s so there have been no major scientific studies done to back this up.

I’ve seen the amazing healing power of this plant in my own life … a friend of mine had a daughter who was severely brain damaged during child birth, the family spent every moment of their life tending to her trying to give her joy, but it was unclear how much their efforts were really doing. The family was desperate and decided to break the law and try giving her cannabis oil, the results were shocking, within seconds of taking the cannabis oil her seizures stopped and she was able to enjoy life at a whole new level. The question is how can something that sounds that amazing be unavailable and even illegal?

I knew that to understand the answers to these questions I needed to start by studying the cannabis plant itself, and here’s what I found.

Cannabis Sativa comes in two varieties, one is the traditional marijuana plant that is smoked, vaporized, and eaten for its psychoactive effect. The other is called industrial hemp, which is used worldwide as a food ingredient and to make products like rope and clothing.

What is virtually unknown is that there are over 70 different elements in the plant including a group referred to as Cannabinoids. What makes this really interesting is that each one of us has an endocannabanoid system in our bodies that allows us to interact with these different elements. The question is … why would we have this system inside our bodies unless we were supposed to be interacting with this plant?

This chart shows just a few of these elements found in the cannabis plant … there’s THC that produces the feeling of being high, but that has also been known to alleviate nausea and stimulates appetite, which is why it has been recommended to patients going through chemotherapy. Then there are the also the Cannabinoids with their different names and abbreviations. Most widely known today is Cannabidiol or “CBD”, this is the one that has caught peoples attention with its ability to potentially heal seizures in children like my friend’s daughter. It turns out that the natural ability of CBD to reduce inflammation is why it has shown to be effective at eliminating lesions on the brain that cause the seizures. This natural inflammatory can also be effective against the pain associated with diseases like diabetes, which is painful specifically because of the inflammation in the body.

What wasn’t realized until recently is that the Industrial Hemp variety that is non-psychoactive, has naturally high levels of CBD, higher than are found in the typical marijuana plant. Industrial hemp characteristically has less than 1% THC and high levels of CBD. The evidence is showing that these Cannabinoids are not specifically a cure for epilepsy, colitis, diabetes, or cancer, but what they’re doing is helping boost your own immune system so you can naturally fight off whatever it is that’s ailing you.

A friend of mine who was the chief science officer for a major vitamins company, began studying CBDs a year and a half ago. After studying it for about a year he felt he knew enough about CBDs to test it on himself to help combat the intestinal colitis which had been ruining his life. He began taking the CBDs and within a couple of weeks all of his symptoms disappeared and it has now been 6 months and he has not had a single episode.

Companies are beginning to create specific formulations to replace the current slate of pharmaceutical drugs, like Prozac, Oxycodon, and Ambien. As an example, many cannabis smokers have realized that after leaving their cannabis unused for a long period of time, once consumed, get the psychoactive effect but they will become very tired, this is because the THC has turned into CBN, which acts as a natural sleep aid. This is how an Ambien replacement will be derived – it will be all natural and have no side effects

So how can something this amazing not be available? As usual, with any conspiracy, it’s important to follow the money. At one time in United States history, hemp was the number one crop because it is so incredibly strong and cheap to grow. Some of the many uses of hemp were rope, clothing, building materials, sails in ships, and as a bio-fuel. Not to mention the Constitution of the United States is written on hemp paper. There were also some very powerful industries and individuals that played a huge role in the prohibition surrounding hemp. The Dupont family controlled the cotton industry, which saw hemp as an obvious threat. William Randolf Hearst’s newspapers were printed on paper and he owned significant timber reserves. These powerful families wrote the very legislation that outlawed hemp and funded the propaganda campaign known as “Reefer Madness” where they predicted that marijuana would make people go insane and destabilize society. Many industries since then have also been threatened by cannabis and have fought hard to keep it illegal. The pharmaceutical industry fears it because they can’t patent and own it, and the alcohol industry sees it as a natural enemy. Our own government, it is said, has kept it illegal for the reason that they don’t need everyone walking around freethinking, asking questions like “Why am I paying taxes? Why are we in so many wars?”

Einstein is famous for saying, “You can’t solve any problem with the same consciousness that got you into the situation.” This means to me that if we want to solve the big issues in society like violence, anxiety and addiction, we need to change people’s consciousness. Nature knows that people are highly stressed and is trying to bring this plant out to change people’s collective consciousness and bring about healing to our most menacing diseases.

Prohibition is being lifted after more than 70 years and every application will play a critical role in your life. Hemp is going to once again become the number one crop in the United States and will again be used in a wide spectrum of applications that add value to our everyday lives. Because of the natural strength of its fibers, it has the potential to be the base material in most 3d printers. Scientist recently became excited about a material called graphene, which has incredible conductivity and is touted as the material that will allow us to have a computer that folds up like a newspaper. The graphene mining stocks are all of 10x or more. Interestingly enough, it turns out that hemp is actually a better conductor than graphene and it doesn’t need to be mined. It grows quickly and is very cost effective.

Recently the government allowed the growing of industrial hemp, leaving it up to the states to regulate the growing. Unfortunately, the law currently says that the plant needs to stay in the state that it is grown in, which is why most of the hemp being sold today in the US is produced in Europe and Canada.

Everyone here today owes it to this plant to make sure that it becomes available as soon as possible by petitioning their government officials and getting out to vote for cannabis related issues. Even today Marijuana is designated as a “Schedule 1” drug in the United States. The definition of a Schedule 1 drug is that it is highly addictive and has no medical benefit. How can it still be claimed to have no medical benefit? Because we have allowed a handful of special interest groups control our access to the future we deserve!

When future civilizations look back, they will see that the suppression of this plant was one of the biggest human atrocities to ever take place, so let’s make sure that they see our generation as the one that took a stand and righted this wrong.

Much thanks to Graham Hancock for sharing this on his website.

For a land of traditional knowledge and wisdom of the ancients, India has today become a place where its people have forgotten what it is to be human while chasing material wealth and sensory pleasures like the rest of the human population on Earth. In India we find all kinds of folks ... some awake and aware .... some who seem deeply archaic and medieval in their world view to the techno savvy robots tuned into the Matrix with obviously no idea of the extent of mind control and manipulation that goes on in our reality.

Before western medicine and pharmaceutical drugs came into the scene mankind always relied on natural remedies to cure any diseases and ailments. Cannabis for instance has always been used as medicine throughout various cultures around the world and is now making a resurgence on the world stage as a potential remedy for all kinds of ailments and disorders that affect the human body. I came across one such shining example of someone being cured of Cancer using Cannabis Oil in India. The story was shared on Facebook on a highly popular page called 'Being Indian' sometime in November last year and has managed to fetch close to 25,000 likes with about 10,000 shares and thousands of comments which shows some signs of the truth finally reaching out to the masses. Its up to us now what we choose to do with this information.

Viki Vaurora used 500 gms of Ganja buds and extracted all its medicinal properties to its oil base, concentrated with THC and CBD compounds. 14 gms of oil was extracted from this process and was ingested in small doses for a period of 2 months. Leela who was suffering from cancer for a long time wasn’t able to eat, talk, walk or sleep peacefully because of the the damage done through chemotherapy but after 2-3 days into the treatment by Viki, she was able to eat and rest without any pain.

Here is the full story ...

What an amazing day with some great news.

A couple of months ago, i was talking to my cousin regarding the amazing benefits of CANNABIS and the reasons for it being illegal. She being an Ayurvedic doctor was quite surprised to learn about the medicinal values of the plant and later informed me that one of her neighbour and a family friend, LEELA, was suffering from cancer. The chemotherapy had damaged her to an extent where she wasn't able to eat, talk, walk or even sleep peacefully. She was throwing up like 20 times in a day and she had to pop like half a dozen of prescribed pills at a time to null the side-effects of the toxic chemo injections. None of the prescriptions was helping her in anyway.

Next thing we know, we asked the patient if she wanted to switch to the "REAL" medicine. A sacred plant, filled with medicinal compounds to cure any disease known to man, CANNABIS / MARIJUANA or commonly referred to as GANJA, in India.

I got my hands on half a kilo of plant buds and extracted all its medicinal properties to its oil base, concentrated with THC and CBD compounds.

14 grams of extracted oil, ingested in small doses over a period of 2 months.

Our patient is now cancer FREE.
And her doctors are curious to know HOW?

Just 2 or 3 days into the treatment, she stopped throwing up completely and was able to eat a little and also rest without any pains.

And in the course of next two months, she healed herself completely.

Thank you Leela for being a brave patient, handling the powerful medicine on a daily basis and finishing your treatment.
Thank you Sowjanya for your brave support in letting me do this. Our world needs more open-minded doctors like you.
Thank you Sushmitha and Harshith for accompanying me in the very long extraction process. (still owe u guys the pizza that we never ordered that night)
Thank you Abhiram for you greatest support. This couldn't have happened without you.
Thank you Sowju and Sowmya for taking the test dose.
And thanks mom, for helping me clean seeds from half a kilo of plant
You are all awesome - Viki Vaurora

Many of us who have blindly accepted Ganja or Cannabis as a dangerous drug still continue to live in our bubble reality, oblivious of the truth. Its only after having done some research into the subject can we truly understand how this really works and the ulterior motives of the big pharma and the-powers-that-be to suppress natural cures and herbal remedies while pumping toxicity into the vast majority which continues to sleep in a perpetual state of ignorance. It is time we speak the truth as we know it and help ourselves and the planet of all negativity and lower, pesky vibrational frequencies which seek to keep us in their control. There are many folks who are beginning to use Cannabis as medicine and there are scores of articles in the mainstream media on the potential benefits of Cannabis which should enlighten and awaken the masses, hopefully !

The only way we can free ourselves from this invisible prison is by gradually taking our power back, one step at a time. Once we stop feeding this system, we become more self sustained and connected to our roots, which is the need of the hour. Let's grow our own food, our own medicine ... let's change our world, one step at a time. The truth cannot be suppressed for too long ... we must be the change now. Its time !

Let's gear up for a Cannabis Reprise in India !
