Many long time Cannabis tokers around the world have known that mixing Tobacco with Cannabis is a bad idea hence only smoke the herb in its purest available form. This habit of mixing Tobacco with Cannabis is more of a European thing and has become popular around the world thanks to the inclusion of Charas or Hashish in the smoking scene. Although Charas and Hash both can be smoked in their pure form, many prefer mixing it with some tobacco to make the joint burn smoothly or give the experience of fullness of smoke when smoked in a pipe(chillum). This habit of mixing tobacco makes us crave something to smoke even more. For many years I was mixing tobacco with cannabis and rolling my spliffs, justifying it for all the BS reasons possible. But the truth is that Tobacco is so addictive, however is legal, so there is less of a social stigma associated with it and since its easily available and priced nominally as compared to weed prices worldwide, most people mix it up, thinking its gonna make their stash last longer, however end up smoking way too much than one needs, if one was smoking it pure.

Its been a few months now since I quit Tobacco for good and life has been so different in all ways possible. From the time I wake up ... I noticed there was no craving to smoke like its been for so many years. Even switching to cleaner tobacco like American Spirit, Pueblo or Manitou ... may seem like a healthier option, however the nicotine cravings don't go away until you just stop mixing the two. So now, its just the pure herb in a glass pipe which helped me easily transition from being a heavy roller to an occasional toker allowing me to focus on more important things in life like staying healthy following a good diet and lifestyle.

I started cycling and within no time the focus quickly shifted from chasing hits and doobies to sweating it out and feeling more power in your being accomplishing more life enhancing goals. Any kind of physical activity which makes one sweat and exercise their complete body is the need of the hour. The feeling you get after a physical workout is beyond any other substance induced high. One can still toke Cannabis occasionally to relax and chill after a long day, taking power from a habit that has been draining us for many years. Cannabis doesn't have any harmful effect on the lungs and has been scientifically proven to actually increase lung expansion and breathing capacity while easing physical pain and calming things down at all levels of our being.

We tend to follow collective habitual patterns as we usually smoke socially in closed circles and groups and the habit is self perpetuating as long as we are hanging out in the same circles. Life is all about changes and once we make those shifts with our habits, we will start to notice how we've been foolishly wasting away a lot of precious herb, time and our health along the way. I've been intending to put this out there just as a reminder to any of you who are looking to make serious changes in your life by choosing differently. All we really have in this plane of existence is our physical being and we have the power and responsibility to improve the quality of our lives by simply choosing better options.

You don't really have to wait for your body to start showing you signs of discomfort and disease before you can make the switch to smoking pure herb. Just stop mixing the two and use a small glass pipe or any other pipe that's easy to clean and toke away just like old times when we held the smoke in for a bit, for a proper hit ! :D

Today, if you ask the experienced psychonauts, which natural medicine interests them most, all of them will most probably have the same answer – Bufo alvarius. This toad from the Sonoran desert produces venom as part of its self-defence mechanism, which contains 5-MeO-DMT - the most powerful psychedelic substance known to man. Even one hit from a pipe gets you anywhere but not in your head and your body, immediately your consciousness becomes part of everything and nothing all at once, you reach the stage most yogis and mystics are trying to achieve their entire life. It sounds tempting, doesn’t it? However, there is always a “but”. The Bufo experience is abnormally intense and it might not be appropriate for everyone. Therefore, it’s important to get as much information as possible regarding it. One of the study sources is Bufo Alvarius – The Underground Secret movie.

Do not worry, it isn’t one of those movies that you would have hard time to concentrate on while watching and it does not tell you what to or not to do. It’s the opposite. Bufo Alvarius - The Underground Secret is a breath taking audio-visual adventure enriched by stories of a group of Czech psychonauts that took the road to South America to experience the Colorado river toad venom on their own. In the movie, the authentic narratives and animations interchange with personal research of 5-Meo-DMT by the founder of transpersonal psychology Stanislav Grof and the physician and neo-shaman Octavio Rettig who has arranged the ceremonial contact with the toad tryptamine to a wide range of volunteers from all around the world.

Official Movie Trailer

There are no words to describe the experience with Bufo alvarius. That is the reason why we opted for the audio-visual adventure with expressive music and 3D animations inspired by personal encounters with this psychedelic substance. The initial plan to shoot a reportage continuously graduated into an intensive film meditation about the essence of consciousness and existence. It is still quite far from the transcendence that you can experience “there” but these are the possibilities of our reality – limited.” Filip Záruba, the director, scriptwriter, cameraman and co-producer of the movie, explains.

It is said that the toad from the Sonoran desert changes lives and the Czech creator of the movie Filip Záruba is a wonderful example. Even though he was not a newcomer at the work with psychedelics and spiritual techniques, at the time of his first Bufo experience, he was completely shocked by what he has discovered “there”. Afterwards, he was surprised to find out that almost nobody knew about this phenomena and that no one has made a feature film about it. It was a challenge and an opportunity for a young filmmaker to build from the experience he had gained while creating 3D animations and special movie effects that he essentially made for television projects and commercials.

You can see a sample of the psychedelic 3D animations in this official music video:

I have tried many different psychedelics before, but none of them can be compared to the substance the movie is all about: 5-MeO-DMT. This experience completely changed my life. For the first time I could experience something I only knew from mystical books and stories of spiritual masters: infinite love, compassion, timelessness, connection to everything in the Universe and wisdom far beyond anything I could imagine. In 10 minutes I was able to learn more than I have in 40 years of my life. From that moment I don’t believe in anything, I simply know. And this is priceless. I decided that more people should know about this unique opportunity to know the truth about themselves and the Universal consciousness, to heal themselves, to get rid of drug or alcohol addictions and so I made this movie.”

The film has received many film festival awards worldwide and after receiving the latest award in USA a scientist researching Yopo, Bufo and 5-MeO-DMT - Joseph Peter Barsuglia - has written: „It’s a new paradigm when documentaries about Schedule 1 psychedelic drugs receive film awards for being “The Best Religious / Spiritual Feature.“ This is the case of 5-MeO-DMT, the natural plant-based tryptamine that you make in your brain called, ‘the God molecule’. Nature is sacred and it is a sacrilege to deem anything in nature as illegal that can bring healing. The Creator does not make mistakes. The earth is our pharmacy and all beings should have inalienable rights to utilize nature to heal ourselves.”

Everybody knows Stanislav Grof

Are you one of those whose life was changed after reading Stanislav Grof’s books? Maybe you were even lucky to get acquainted with him in person. Thanks to the Bufo Alvarius – The Underground Secret you can meet him on a film screen or on a monitor of your computer and learn about his experience with the 5-Meo-DMT. Now, we can only reveal that this psychedelic substance blew his mind. As repetition is the mother of learning, we will recapitulate how has this revolutionary psychiatrist, with over sixty years of experience in research on healing, transforming and heuristic potential of non-ordinary states of consciousness, enriched the world.

He is one of the fathers and chief theoreticians of transpersonal psychology. Grof is the founder of the International Transpersonal Association (ITA) and for several decades served as its president. Along with his former wife Christina, they developed a highly efficient psychotherapeutic and self-exploring method of Holotropic Breathwork and organized big international conferences for transpersonal psychology all over the world. He still holds lectures and conducts expert training programs of Holotropic Breathwork and transpersonal psychology; he is professor of psychology at the California Institute of Integral studies (CIIS) in San Francisco at the department of philosophy, cosmology and consciousness. Dr. Stanislav Grof published over 160 articles in professional journals and many books that were translated into numerous languages. The International transpersonal conference is held regularly under the aegis of Stanislav Grof in various countries. Last time many leading scientists participated in it in Prague in 2017 where the movie was screened for the first time.

"Western Science is approaching a paradigm shift of unprecedented proportions, one that will change our concepts of reality and of human nature, bridge the gap between ancient wisdom and modern science, and reconcile the differences between Eastern spirituality and Western pragmatism."

- Stanislav Grof

Who is Dr. Octavio Rettig Hinojosa ?

Dr. Octavio Rettig Hinojosa, another hero of the Bufo Alvarius movie, is an author of The Toad of Dawn, 5-MeO-DMT and the Rise of Cosmic Consciousness, and also a pioneer in the treatment of toad medicine use who has successfully assisted thousands of people in recovering from abusive conditions associated with synthetic drug use, addiction to stimulants as well as other psychological afflictions such as PTSD and depression. Dr. Rettig, originally physician, has conducted more than 8000 sessions with the natural substances containing powerful psychedelic compound 5-MeO-DMT (Bufo alvarius toad, yopo), to assist people in recovering from variety of mental health problems.

He received his medical degree at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico. After discovering the secretion of Bufo Alvarius healing properties, he reintroduced this tool to the Seri tribe of Sonora desert, where the toad lives. By years he developed a unique medicinal neoshamanic fusion to work with this substance.

Bufo Alvarius & 5-MeO-DMT in a Nutshell

The 5-MeO-DMT substance, produced by Bufo alvarius, a toad living in the Sonora desert in Mexico, presents fast path towards the experience of unity and absolute identification with Universal consciousness. This psychoactive substance is usually not included in the official lists of addiction producing substances, i.e. ingestion of this substance is completely legal in many countries worldwide. 5-MeO-DMT as well as DMT or other psychedelics do not cause addiction.

The Bufo Alvarius toads are only captured in order to obtain the substance, which is extracted from their glands. The toads are then set free back into nature. By inhaling the vapour of Bufo Alvarius the effect on neural receptors is immediate. The primary healing molecule recognized in this process is 5-MeO-DMT. The experience goes on for approximately 15 minutes (in earthly time). No specific diet is necessary. The after-glow takes another 30 minutes during which the experience is processed. After an hour, a person can usually behave completely normally.

Participants usually evaluate their voyage as the most powerful spiritual experience ever. Thanks to their speed and availability, they are also very well designed for the needs of today. Although the trip is short it gets very intense. The experience takes place beyond the sensory perception and it could be said that it aims directly at the state called 'Dharmakaya', primordial clear light, by the Tibetan Book of the Dead. Within seconds, personal identity and individual self [*] are disassembled and the consciousness identifies with the Universal consciousness beyond time and space. This state is highly healing, balancing and integrating on the physical level. It is recommended to stand and touch the Earth with one’s feet. At the mental level, “new identity“ is put together again and in a better way upon return to conventional reality, many ideas, insights and topics start to surface after long waiting to be processed. Next few months are usually described as a period during which life changes surprisingly and a person is exposed to many dynamic processes, unexpected events and synchronicities.

[*] Please note the etymological origin of the word in-divi-dual-ity, i.e. actually meaning "in dual division".

So are you ready for a movie ride with Bufo Alvarius, Stanislav Grof, Octavio Rettig and a bunch of brave psychonauts? This documentary that impressed several film festival juries all around the world and was given very positive feedbacks from various specialists in psychedelic substances and altered states of consciousness is now available online. Large screen and a good sound are strongly recommended. Enjoy!

There are no accidents, no random chances in this reality we co-create and experience at an individual and at a collective level. Everything happening in our lives is pushing us forward on our evolutionary path and each one of us is on this journey, whether we like to accept this now or later is one's choice hence our journey from the darkness of ignorance to a place of knowing, a place of truth and never ending light. We are being nudged forward to recreate ourselves each day and there are forces at play beyond the comprehension of our rational thinking mind who are always guiding us along. Whether you call it your higher self, your Intuition, Spirit Guides, Angels, God etc ... it is essentially another aspect of yourself, it is you. Through many psychedelic journeys we come face to face with the inherent connection between all things, which are nothing in their truest essence ... the universe is energy at different frequencies of vibration and we are all living the illusion of swimming in this sea of consciousness however we are this sea, just for the sake of analogy ... trying to put certain ineffable revelations in words, humbly.

From my own personal journey within the raving culture, I have seen and experienced many different kinds of situations which have somehow shifted my awareness from perceiving this world from the limited framework of my mind to something outside of my self which is essentially omnipresent, its everywhere. Enlightening revelations may well be a consequential side effect of taking Psychedelics and becoming one with the music in a trance dance frenzy ... expressing our truest feelings, uninhibited. On almost all of my experiences on LSD I felt completely in tune with the intelligence of the body, which spoke to me in an unspoken language, showing me signs ... what i should be paying attention to ... what is really important in the here and now ... my attention was always drawn towards the breath. Almost involuntarily, one goes into a state of deep trance and we start to receive information if you may, or downloads from somewhere ... everything begins to make more cohesive sense when the patterns start to emerge as dots begin to connect. The Universe is always working with us and not against us ... if we only learn to trust our intuition more we will realize how everything happening is a consequence of what we have held in our vibrational state. We are capable of achieving great things once we start to flow with the natural frequencies of creation which speak only one language which is the language of love, its the highest form of vibrational energy we can fathom and it is what everything is made of.

The Psychedelic parties and the raving culture are definitely powerful avenues to bring about this Psychedelic Catharsis in our lives, however these are only gateways or portals to something even more grander if we learn to traverse these paths well, with love and awareness ... Once Psychedelics open up your mind then you can never go back to the older version of yourself and this is what scares most people who are afraid of change and are still desperately holding onto overrun patterns chasing illusions in the material world. There are many in the Psychedelic community who are looking for a quick fix and escape from the mundane through the Psychedelic Experience ... and it works, for a while ... Until one starts to become more sensitive to energies and can see underlying patterns behind what goes on ... its almost like when we are bombarded with too much overwhelming information one finds it hard to make complete sense of ... being surrounded by a many different energies, lacking the feeling of clarity ... feels like more wild, untamed, unconscious energy pumped by amphetamines for most part, since a lot of folks these days just want the physical sensations of a Serotonin Blast which equates to the feelings of love ... with side effects of course and often short lived.

The Psytrance culture has given a lot of Psychonauts across the Planet a lot to work with, provided the work is done like it should. Taking Psychedelics responsibly requires one to be well informed and guided by someone experienced, usually a Tripsitter. Our energetic state before doing these Psychedelics is also key to what our experience would shape up like. For most part, on our Tryptamine journeys we encounter what we are holding in our present state of conscious awareness and what matches our vibration. The Universe is always working with us, showing us what we need to see and we are the ones who create each experience by the power of our thoughts. The external world, our dreams, our desires are all illusions, however serve a purpose of showing us where our vibrational energy is taking us, giving us the opportunity to learn and hence create more consciously. We find most peace and satisfaction in our lives when we are on our path, following the signs the Universe is showing us while being guided by our intuition and not our limited egos. My personal journey so far has been profoundly revelatory and compels me to share some of these realizations with you for this is my purpose, my mission, to be able to articulate to best of my ability the random strangeness we call life, which is in fact not random at all and there are no coincidences either. Its always humbling to realize the trickster nature of the Universe which swiftly rearranges itself just when we think we had it all figured out. We can chase the next party, the next psychedelic experience, the next hot partner ... finally realizing what we are searching for has always been here with us. This many may not fully comprehend for its where they are on their journey right now. I know this for I have been there myself.

The Psychedelic Awakening opens up new pathways and breaks down some of the self created barriers in our mind about who we think we are ... but we tend to forget easily and get seduced by the Maya of the material world. This too has a purpose to serve for it has taken you to the point of awakening. This Psychedelic Catharsis, this Ego Meltdown or Ego Death is what brings about a powerful transformation in our lives and we start becoming sequentially, more aware of the path forward .... being guided by intuition. We have many gifts waiting to be discovered and they come to us in Solitude. I am forever grateful to the Psychedelic Trance scene for showing me the way and also making me realize that the scene by itself is not necessarily the way and Psychedelics are to be used wisely and not abused for the sake of feeding our limited pride and egos. I am grateful to all the people who have been part of my journey so far and have brought about many important lessons for me to grow and be a better human.

Addiction is a very individual disease. Each person who suffers from addiction experiences it in a way that is unique to them. However, when it comes to treatment, we often fail to recognize how different each individual can be.

We’re facing a nationwide opioid epidemic, and the truth is we still have a lot to learn about treating addiction. There is no single magic ‘cure’ that’s going to work for everyone, and for many people recovery is often a matter of trial and error.

Treatment and the Epidemic

As more and more people are taken by addiction, we are experiencing a growing necessity for different types of treatment programs. The ‘cookie cutter’ program approach isn’t guaranteed to work for everyone.

When a doctor prescribes a medication to treat an illness, they monitor the effectiveness and make changes based on how well the treatment is working. That kind of problem solving needs to be used when treating addiction.

Its important that addicts be able to course-correct their treatment and find access to new pathways towards sobriety. Fortunately, rehabilitation professionals are becoming increasingly familiar with alternative methods of treatment.

One of these lesser-known options utilizes a drug called Ibogaine—a natural psychoactive therapy that has proven to be an effective addiction treatment.

Ibogaine – A Brief History

Ibogaine is a natural alternative to some of the more traditional addiction treatment options. It’s derived from an African plant that has psychedelic properties called Tabernanthe iboga.

The native peoples of West Africa have used this iboga root, in the form of a tea, to induce spiritual awareness. It has been the core of their spiritual ceremonies for centuries.

However, in the 1960s, Ibogaine, extracted from the iboga root, was found to interrupt addiction.

While experimenting with different substances Howard Lotsof, who at the time was a heroin addict, discovered that ingesting Ibogaine eliminated his withdrawal symptoms and his body’s dependency on heroin.

After this realization, he began treating many of his friends who were also heroin addicts with the same results—they were able to overcome the horrible symptoms of withdrawal and almost immediately break free of opioid dependence.

To Lotsof, this was a massive discovery, and he spent the rest of his life studying Ibogaine and its effects on the addicted brain.

In order to understand exactly how Ibogaine works we need to take a look at the brain and exactly how addiction affects it.

How does Addiction Change the Brain?

Chemical dependency occurs when someone’s brain becomes so accustomed to the neural chemicals, provided by drugs and alcohol, that the natural production of those chemicals becomes much less effective. This means that if they stop supplying their brain with that addictive substance, the body starts to fight back—causing physical withdrawal.

Often, the withdrawal experience is so unpleasant that many addicts will continue to use just to avoid the discomfort. When a person no longer has the ability to feel normal without taking some sort of drug, they have a serious problem with no simple solution.

Getting through physical withdrawal can be brutal. Although many clinics offer what they consider to be “better” ways to get through withdrawals, the detox solution is often just sitting in a room while the brain adjusts back to normal levels—often taking days or even weeks.

How Ibogaine Works

As an alternative to enduring this extended period of painful detox, many addicts turn to Ibogaine. Ibogaine targets the area of the brain associated with addiction. By “resetting” the brain, Ibogaine is able to renew the neurons and pathways back to their pre-addicted state.

For the addict, this means that Ibogaine eliminates 80% or more of all withdrawal symptoms almost immediately after the dose is taken.

This means that Ibogaine can often offer addicts not only a fresh take on addiction treatment, but also a holistic method of detoxing quickly without the pain of withdrawals.

According to Mental Health Daily, “The most notable potential benefit is that a single dose of Ibogaine could lead to long-term suppression of opiate/opioid cravings such that former opioid/opiate users are able to maintain abstinence for an indefinite duration.”

But if Ibogaine is so effective at treating addiction, why isn’t it available in the USA?

Ibogaine in the USA

Unfortunately, doctors in the U.S. have been unable to study the medication to its full potential. Since the 1960s, almost every psychedelic, including Ibogaine, has been outlawed even for scientific study.

However, with MDMA and other psychedelics starting to gain footing in the United States medical system, Ibogaine may not be far behind. Even though Ibogaine has shown to be fatal in some who use it, modern science has significantly reduced this negative outcome, making Ibogaine much safer than it was just a few years ago.

The future of Ibogaine and other psychedelics is promising.

Freedom from Addiction

Ibogaine can help the brain return to its naturally balanced state much faster than waiting for the body to recover on its own. But it is not a cure and it will not force an addict to stay clean.

Freedom from addiction to drugs and alcohol is a lifelong process that requires a different approach for each person. Ibogaine, combined with a rehab or aftercare program, can often be one of the most promising treatment options, especially for those who have tried other treatment programs with little or no success.

With new discoveries being made in alternatives like Ibogaine, there’s more hope for long-term sobriety than ever before. Every addict deserves a chance to live a sober and successful life. There are many treatment options available and Ibogaine is just one of them. Each addict must educate themselves and find the right treatment for them.

The progress being made in psychedelic science & research is out of this world because it is a world apart from everything that I knew about the subject growing up.

"LSD & psychedelics will fry your brain and you will end up in a psychotic state for the rest of your life if you are stupid enough to take them. They are evil and will destroy your life."

Yes I lived a sheltered life. But that was the limit of my education on the subject. 'Stay as far away as possible if you want to live a healthy life'. And I did.

It was only in recent years I started seeing different information pop up about them. And the truth about psychedelics would appear to be very different and pointing to an almost magical impact on the brain. Forget mind blowing expansive experiences just for a moment. Forget mystical experiences also.

I am talking about the practical benefits of psychedelics, from giving up cigarettes to curing depression anxiety & PTSD and much more. In recent months MDMA has received the backing of the FDA who designated it as a 'breakthrough therapy' for PTSD. If the growing scientific community at the centre of this are to succeed it could have a radical impact on mental health treatment. It could as Dr. Robin Carhart-Harris says "change the world".

In my short video I talk to Amanda Feilding who is known as the 'hidden hand' guiding the research worldwide and neuroscientist, Dr. Robin Carhart Harris. I ask about where the fears originated from and what the results of the research is telling us.

Handling Marijuana Is Often More Difficult Than Major Psychedelics

In the fight for the legalization of various drugs, many people are under the impression that marijuana should be legalized before other types of drugs. Their thinking presumes marijuana is an easier type of psychedelic for people to handle, so it should become legal before more major psychedelics should. This certainly seems like sound logic, doesn’t it?

Indeed, it is the common belief of most that marijuana provides a mellow experience, rather than the intense psychedelic experience that comes from other drugs. That is not always the case, however. It is, in fact, the opinion of many users of various psychedelics (including marijuana) that weed can be a lot harder to handle. They claim that psychedelic overdose can be handled and is well understood, but a marijuana overdose is shrouded in confusion and misconceptions, and therefore is more dangerous when an overdose occurs.

What is a Psychedelic Overdose ?

There is a lot of confusion that accompanies the idea of a “marijuana overdose” or a “psychedelic overdose.” Many people believe it does not occur, while others imagine it to be the exact same experience as an overdose of hard drugs, like cocaine or heroine. For the sake of this article, a psychedelic overdose is not exactly the same kind of overdose as would be experienced with alcohol or other drugs. The main difference between a psychedelic overdose and a hard drug overdose is that they are not fatal at all -- the overdose is simply a stronger experience than the user would like. In other words, it might overwhelm a person's threshold.

Just like alcohol users learn to avoid a hangover, psychedelic users learn how to avoid this “overdose.” Simply being familiar with your personal limits, and keeping tabs on how much you take is usually sufficient. Also, be sure to consume in a safe environment, in case the experience is more than you bargained for. In fact, psychedelics are better to overdose on than other drugs for another reason: the overdose can be turned around into a positive, transformative trip if the surrounding environment is a good one.

    The Marijuana Overdose

Perhaps the main problem that surrounds understanding marijuana overdose is the fact that everyone thinks it’s an easier drug to handle, so it is taken much more casually, without planning or second thoughts. The fact that marijuana is usually consumed via smoking rather than ingesting it (such as with most psychedelics) means that its effects occur much more rapidly. It is said that the faster a drug affects a person, the stronger the addiction is to that drug. This, for instance, is the reason heroine overpowers opium in addictiveness.

With marijuana, many of the people smoking it really enjoy the act of smoking. This means that, even once they have gotten to the point of being at the “right” level of high, they will just continue smoking because they enjoy it. They likely would not do the same thing if they were using tinctures or consuming marijuana edibles, for example.

Another reason a marijuana overdose can be difficult to deal with is the fact that a person who is overdosing will seem fine to everyone else. While their emotions begin to spiral in fearful, confusing directions, they won’t receive the care they need because they look fairly normal. A psychedelic overdose, on the other hand, makes the person look obviously unwell, meaning the proper care will be taken.

    Proper Marijuana Education is Needed

Ultimately, the main problem that comes from marijuana during the present day is the fact that people are not accurately educated about the drug. If everyone learns about limits and smoking safely, these overdosing issues can easily be avoided. It should not be a more complicated issue than with major psychedelic drugs, and we can make it that way through education.

As marijuana becomes more widespread and legalized across the nation, we truly need to address this issue. The new technologies allowing for concentrated doses is just another reason why people need to fully understand what they are consuming similar care to how we treat major psychedelics. Most things are good in moderation, we should focus on defining what that is.

The psychedelic culture has grown exponentially over the years, even though the scene is mostly underground and not exactly mainstream as yet. Literally millions if not more, experiment with psychotropic substances every day. What's in your Baggie is a documentary film that looks closely at the psychedelic party scene and the various substances that are sold with highly toxic impurities which can be really dangerous for human consumption, hence are to be approached with a reasonable degree of caution.

Common drugs from previous generations like LSD, mushrooms, cocaine and opiates are still popular, but they’ve been joined by the likes of MDMA and ecstasy, amphetamines, ketamine, and a massive array of others.

In fact, there are so many different psychoactive substances floating through our country that people don’t even realize how complicated things have gotten.

We quickly discovered that the majority of the time, people were surprised to find that their bag of drugs was not what they paid for.

According to the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction, 243 new drugs have been reported since 2009.

For whatever reason, many festival-goers and other young people alike seem to be thoroughly oblivious to the invasion of dangerous new drugs.

Unfortunately, most substance users are unaware of the availability of substance test kits.

Times have certainly changed since the Hippie Heaven of the sixties ... Peace, Love, Unity and Respect have been conveniently replaced by materialistic desires and greed. We have become so power hungry in our race to nowhere that we have forgotten what it is to be human. Our inner divinity cries out to be recognized, however in vain as our limited egos seem to have it all figured out, but only for as long as we allow our egos to stay in control. Some of us who like to self medicate using all kinds of psychedelic substances need to watch out for what we allow to enter our state of consciousness. Every substance no matter what its sold to us as, has a powerful effect on our lives, often underestimated by exuberant psychonauts, willing to accept any and all lethal combinations in unknown quantities and dozes.

LSD is a powerful tool to be used for inner exploration and self discovery. Sadly, a lot of the LSD blotters sold out there today are research chemicals such as NBOME, DOB, etc ... There are so many different kinds of research chemicals out there, being freely sold online and way cheaper than the real deal. This has made it possible for some greedy people to take advantage of the situation and do whats best for business, jeopardizing lives of others who often believe they had a bad trip on ACID, whereas the real culprit is the research chemical which is sold as LSD in most places !

There are some tell tale signs which can help one identify if the blotter has clean LSD or not. Firstly, most of the genuine LSD blotters I have seen have been kind of thick and with no taste at all, or at times a minty taste (in the form of drops), which I was told is a way to keep it undetected or to store it for longer. The bitter ones which have a strong metallic taste to them are the ones which are not acid but some research chemical, most probably one of the NBOME series. Check Erowid for more about this ! The NBOME Blotter is hence termed, "Bitter Spitter" indicating its not LSD and needs to be spat out as soon as you figure what it is. As beautiful, magical and joyous a journey on LSD can be, the contrasting research chemical experience can be unnerving, chaotic, confusing ... with its effects lasting at least 12 hours or more even on small dozes.

LSD isn't something one needs to chase all the time. A powerful LSD experience once in a lifetime can be good enough to propel one on his/her soul path towards a deeper understanding of existence and our purpose being here. Its definitely not something one needs to keep doing too frequently as it can be damaging to the psyche to say the least, possibly leading to other complications. The psychedelic experience, coupled with Yoga, Meditation and other forms of energy work can open powerful pathways towards greener pastures, unexplored.

The psychedelic experience is a shamanic ritual which is best experienced out there in the wilderness, soaked within the healing forest frequencies which unite us all. We may not have our forests as the perfect setting, but we do have this thing called 'intuition' deeply seated within us all, which when awakened allows us to have some sort of a vision ... a sense of knowing ... which helps us make more life affirming choices.

India seems to be making some serious head way to legalize Cannabis in a country which has always revered the sacred plant for its spiritual and medicinal qualities.

Advocate Aditya Barthakur has filed a public interest litigation (PIL) in the Bombay high court challenging the criminalisation of cannabis under Indian law, based on the fact that none of six government organs he queried had any idea about how the herb is harmful to the human body.

The high court has issued notices to the central and state governments, reported the Express.

Barthakur last year filed a Right to Information (RTI) request seeking medical or scientific reasons for how the consumption of Cannabis in any form is harmful to humans.

He filed this request first with the ministry of health and family welfare from where it traveled, through transfer by the department, to the department of health research, the Indian Council of Medical Research and finally to the national institute of nutrition which replied to Barthakur with an excerpt, allegedly, copy-pasted from the website of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of New Jersey.

Barthakur then filed an RTI with the same query with the legislative department of the law ministry, which transferred it to the department of revenue which replied to Barthakur with the word "NIL".

Barthakur also filed an RTI on the same query with the Law Commission of India next, which transferred it to the ministry of health and family welfare from where it once again followed the same transfer route as before, until it landed with the home ministry which forwarded it to one of its divisions (an "IS-II division").

Barthakur also filed the same RTI with the Central Bureau of Narcotics, adding in it the further query that what is the basis of the law prohibiting Cannabis under the NDPS Act 1985 if there are no medical or scientific reasons as were asked for. The Bureau replied to him with a reproduction of the NDPS Act provisions criminalising Cannabis.

He then filed the criminal writ petition making all the queried government organs respondents along with the union of India and the state of Maharashtra. In the writ petition Bathakur produces research, such as British Commission reports containing mythological texts which note the medical and other benefits of the Cannabis plant, including curing cancer.

The 34-year-old lawyer, who is appearing in person in the writ petition, concluded it with an Atharvaveda Sloka:

To the five kingdoms of the plants which Soma rules as Lordwe speak.Darbha, hemp, barley, mighty power: may these deliver us from woe.

    He prayed in his petition:

The Hon’ble Court be pleased to declare, the defining and penal provisions, in relation to Cannabis, of The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and inclusion of Cannabis in Schedule I, Entry (2) of The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and inclusion of Cannabis at Sl. No. 23 in Notification Specifying Small Quantity and Commercial Quantity, dated 19.10.2001, published in the Gazette of India, for the purposes of Section 2 (viia) and 2 (xxiiia) of The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and, inclusion of Cannabis in National Policy on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, as being, unjust, and, ultra vires, the provisions of Constitution of India, 1950, and

The Hon’ble Court be pleased to direct, the defining and penal provisions, in relation to Cannabis, of The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and inclusion of Cannabis in Schedule I, Entry (2) of The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, and 1985, and inclusion of Cannabis at Sl. No. 23 in Notification Specifying Small Quantity and Commercial Quantity, dated 19.10.2001, published in the Gazette of India, for the purposes of Section 2 (viia) and 2 (xxiiia) of The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and, inclusion of Cannabis in National Policy on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, be suitably amended for being, unjust, and, ultra vires, the provisions of Constitution of India, 1950, and,

That as an interim relief the operation of every provision in relation to Cannabis in The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and Notification Specifying Small Quantity and Commercial Quantity, dated 19.10.2001, contravention of which is a unjustified penal offence, be suspended until the final hearing and disposal of this Public Interest Litigation

Cannabis currently occupies an uncertain position under Indian criminal law, which allows certain forms of it to be consumed, also during religious festivals such as Holi.

For the first time since Cannabis was made illegal in 1985, people in India are waking up to the truth about this great plant and its medicinal and therapeutic potential and coming together to ask our senile government why is Cannabis still illegal in India while many countries across the world and about 20 states in the US have either fully or partially legalized Cannabis or at least decriminalized the use of it, treating it more like a health issue based on personal choice rather treating it like a crime.

It was a great honor to be at the 1st conference on Cannabis Legalization in India, however it would have never come to this in the first place if it weren't for a few greedy people who keep their own interests before the health and well being of us people who are forced to buy into inane, nonsensical law we never agreed to in the first place.

The conference kicked off with Viki Vaurora who leads 'The Great Legalization Movement of India' presenting the case for Cannabis legalization in India. He discussed the rich history of Cannabis in India, quoting the Vedas and other ancient Indian texts and scriptures.

The conference room at the venue, Alliance Francais, Bangalore was packed with Cannabis enthusiasts from all walks of life. It was heart warming to see people speak their truth and how Cannabis has affected them positively even when used just as a dietary supplement included in salads and other delicious recipes. There were people supporting the use of Hemp based products, people who knew certain loopholes in the law and how we could get a licence from the Excise Commission of India .. within some section called L6 or something which a gentleman called Shekhar from the audience brought out.

Rick Simpson, the man who cured himself from Cancer using Cannabis oil after doctors gave up on him was the next to speak after Viki had introduced the audience to the agenda of the conference. He shared many examples of how Cannabis oil has helped many folks combat serious ailments without having to go through the horrors of our modern medical industry.

There was a couple from Bangalore whose child had suffered from seizures due to a bad vaccine reaction and his health started to deteriorate rapidly. After going from pillar to post all around Bangalore asking the top most Neurosurgeons what could be done to get their boy back, they reached no answers. After a while they came across Cannabis Oil as a potential cure for his seizures which was also shown in a separate video at the conference describing the case of a young girl suffering from seizures who responded really well to Cannabis Oil and started to show signs of improvement.

Someone from the audience said they recently read an article in the newspaper (Bangalore) about how it is legal to grow Cannabis plants at home until they reach the stage when seeds start to form and buds begin to appear on the plant. The same person who shared this story at the conference happens to be a grandmother of 6, also uses Cannabis leaves in her Salads on a regular basis.

Viki Vaurora, the man behind The Great Legalization Movement of India spoke to the audience straight from the heart, as it is without any inhibition at all ... sharing the truth as he knows it. His responses to some of the questions from the audience during the Q & A session were applauded by all the 200 odd people attending the conference in unison. Never have I been to a gathering of this kind, supporting a cause often overlooked and avoided by most people, for most part. Glad to know things are really moving forward now, with more people awakening to the bigger picture ...

30 years of marijuana being illegal, India now for Marijuana Legalisation Movement

With several countries in the world, including Uruguay and some states in the USA, legalising marijuana (cannabis), the movement has finally found a foothold in India. The first-ever conference in India for the legalisation of Marijuana will be held in Bengaluru on May 10, although the venue is yet to be finalised.

The Great Indian Legalisation Movement will organise Medical Cannabis Conferences across four cities - Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai and Delhi on consecutive weekends in May. The seating has been limited to 200 people for the Bengaluru conference.

Organised by Viki Vaurora, a 23-year-old musician and recording engineer, the event will focus on the medicinal properties of the plant.

"Countries like Israel and Netherlands have been researching the medicinal value of the plant for years. It has proven to help people with cancer, diabetes, leukaemia and bipolar disorder. To top it, cannabis is easily available in nature and easily accessible," says Vaurora who experienced the effects of marijuana while studying music production in London and says it helped him overcome depression.

One of the guests who will be speaking at the conference will be Rick Simpson, the founder of Phoenix Tears, who was the first person to extract concentrated cannabis oil for the purpose of treating cancer. He claims to have used it to cure several people with the oil.

"The event is exclusively organised for doctors, media and (senior) students " says Vaurora, adding: "Cannabis has been a part of Indian culture since the Vedic times and plays a role in Ayurveda. It was only in 1961 that United States tried to bully India into making it illegal and under the Rajiv Gandhi government in 1984 they made it a Class-A drug clubbing it with cocaine and heroin. Now, many states in the US have started making it legal. I don't see why we should be victims to such draconian laws."

The cannabis flower not only has medical properties but its stem too can be used to make hemp fibre which can used in the making of clothes, ropes and even hemp plastic, Vaurora explains while pointing out that Henry Ford made a car entirely out of hemp in 1941. "I don't think the government has the right to tell people what they can consume and what they can't, especially when they allow companies to openly sell tobacco and alcohol which are proven to be harmful to an individual. Marijuana on the other hand doesn't have adverse effects and isn't addictive either," Vaurora says .

He stopped smoking marijuana when he moved back to India three years ago and hasn't smoked since. He points out to the destruction of over 60,000 acres of marijuana plantation in Himachal Pradesh and the North East where it is abundantly grown. He alleges that big pharma companies and the European Union are paying the government to destroy the crops.

As most of the world is slowly awakening from its deep slumber of ignorance surrounding Cannabis, now being recognized for its therapeutic and anti-cancer properties, things are looking brighter for the Herb. On the 70th Birthday of Bob Marley, the Jamaican government decided to relax its Marijuana possession laws.

The Jamaican cabinet has approved a bill that would decriminalize possession of small amounts of cannabis and pave the way for a legal medical marijuana industry.

The bill would establish a cannabis licensing authority to deal with the regulations needed to cultivate, sell and distribute the herb for medical, scientific and therapeutic purposes. “We need to position ourselves to take advantage of the significant economic opportunities offered by this emerging industry,” he said.

It would make possession of 2 ounces (56g) or less an offence that would not result in a criminal record. Cultivation of five or fewer plants on any premises would be permitted. Rastafarians, who use marijuana as a sacrament, could also legally use it for religious purposes for the first time in Jamaica, where the spiritual movement was founded in the 1930s.

In India, although it is illegal the law isn't enforced for most part and is manipulated by crooked cops and government officials who profit from the fear surrounding its illegality by extorting money from users. The law enforcement officials in India like most of the world are a very small minority of us who are simply brainwashed in doing their job with little or no insight into the situation at hand while millions of Sadhus, Naga Babas, Priests and Religious people from various religious sects such as the Nihangs of Punjab, the Pandas from Orissa and countless other regular folks doing odd jobs, driving cabs, musicians, artists, sculptors, actors, writers (the list is endless) .... continue to use the herb on a regular basis without any fear or inhibition.

As users of the herb and other plant based psychedelics, we Psychonauts must endeavor to set a good example by treating all substances with respect and use them to bring about some positive change in our lives and others around us.

We must live our truth ... We must be the change !

The Cannabis Legalization movement is reaching new heights as more people awaken to its true potential. Drug laws around the world which treat Cannabis as a drug need to be abolished as they make criminals out of regular folks who mean no harm. Came across this interesting article on Cannabis Legalization in the United States ... worth sharing !

To those who are not aware, Twenty States in the US have legalized Medical Marijuana and Two Currently have Legalized it recreationally in addition. For most of us, our states are currently discussing or legislating about legalizing the sweet cheeba but plenty of people still don’t either understand why it’s not only a big deal, but why marijuana itself isn’t as big of a deal as the controversy, money and information being produced in result of the growing legalizing and decriminalizing of it.

You have Five “people” in the equation:

    1. The Pro-Cannabis Recreationals: They are the ones who want to smoke weed and don’t see why it’s a big fucking deal. These people don’t really have a ‘type’ as smokers these days can be your neighbor, your mailman, or your parents. Just about anyone could be a recreational smoker and you not be aware because they have gotten good at hiding it because of their job, their reputation, or because they don’t want the “stoner” stigma tied to their persona. They may smoke to alleviate pain but they can live without it.

    2. The Ill Medicated: These can range from AIDs patients to Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Cancer to children who suffer from severe seizures. These are the people who indirectly are responsible for the medical marijuana in the first place. Many of them use it for an analgesic, to create an appetite, or to just make their general state of life better especially if their disease is terminal. These people are the main reason it should be legal, a lot of these people are suffering from terminal or permanent conditions who deserve relief that doesn’t have to give them the side effects that pharmaceuticals and chemical therapy create.

    3. The State: They are more of less just looking at it from a profit point of view. They need money for schools right? Money for Roads? Public Programs? Yeah, well they need money and they are always trying to find ways to make it, the only issue is when the people are torn between if they are for or against cannabis and it rips communities apart within the state. That’s a whole other thing entirely.

    4. The Federal Government: If The State is Mommy, then The Federal Government is it’s Daddy. It reaches into it’s wallet and peels off a few dollars for Mommy State to buy herself some shoes. Overall, if Mommy State says you can go out and Daddy says you can’t, Mommy will let you sneak out if you get back on time and Daddy grounds you when he finds out. Daddy also has creepy friends from work like Uncle Executive Branch, Judicial and Legislative come over and drink beers while also taking turns disciplining you, why, because they are creepy.

    5. ABOVE THE INFLUENCE: Those are the people who are really really really against it. Like, they have way too much time worrying about what other people are doing and hide under the guise of : ITS KILLING DEM CHILDRENS! or ITS OF THE DEVIL! or YOURE GOING TO FORNICATE AND HAVE A DEMON BABY!

    6. Everybody else: If you don’t smoke weed, that is probably you. Maybe you have an opinion on it, maybe you don’t, but you don’t care enough about it to say what your opinion is.

You still with me? Good. I will give a quick lesson in marijuana and it’s history with the government. It was legal, then it stopped being legal mostly due to a few factors:

It’s reputation with black jazz musicians. God Fearing White Folks were scared that their daughters would come home with a mixed child that was spawned from her philandering with Jazz musicans after being high on the marijuana.

Yes, People were that simple. It also had a reputation with migrant workers, Mexicans and basically every person who was darker than a glass of buttermilk was a suspected user and you were not to be like those guys obviously.

They wanted to rescind the prohibition of alcohol so what better way then make something else illegal? Instead of continuing to be afraid of alcohol (aka the government getting tired of people destroying shyt, bootlegging and many unsavory ways of creating, transporting and selling it on the low low), they decided marijuana needed to be the new scapegoat to everyone’s problems. Previously this had been attempted to cocaine and heroin as the answer to the flourishing alcoholism of the 30s, which as we know now, those are bad answers to anything. Even then, they still used it to create hemp and products derivative from cannabis. Though regulation on it had already been going on since the 1600s, by the 1900s it was starting to be labeled the same as harsher drugs, and by the 70s, it was made a controlled substance despite the other drugs in that specific box are either made to be psychoactive or addictive through changing it’s state as where there are maybe one other drug in that list that is useable in it’s natural state (and I don’t even think you can get it in the US as a normal person).

I myself was never against it in the first place. I took D.A.R.E. and similar programs in school but I never really had an opinion about it because it wasn’t big and scary like it was created to seem like and after becoming educated, I didn’t see why anyone would see it as being specifically more harmful than pollution, alcohol, cigarettes, microwaves, driving, and other things that we do and take into our bodies on a daily basis.

At Some point in my life, I transitioned from casual smoker to regular smoker and as I got older, I have formulated, changed and broadened my education as well as my person opinion and level of responsibility for choosing to medicate using cannabis. Many times, I have found myself brainstorming about why would anyone want it to be illegal when it does so much for people, so I came up with a list.

It is a literal medicine. It has compounds in it that treat a variety of illnesses and diseases. It is almost unreal the abilities that it has to help children who have daily seizures live an enriching life instead of gradually falling behind their peers. It is an anti-inflammatory, it is an analgesic, it creates an appetite, it shrinks cancerous tumors, it causes cancer cells itself to commit suicide in recorded studies abroad. It has so many abilities without the terrible side effects of treatment that uses pharmaceuticals and chemicals and replaces some of their very uses. You don’t see enough US studies done because the FDA has only backed Marinol as far as a drug that has cannabis and is legal to use because of personal interest, but the Federal Government constantly blocks newer research on the basis that it is still illegal on a Federal level even if it’s legal on a state level, that way scientists who want to see what else it can do stateside cannot get grants and funding to be able to even do the research which to me is counter productive. Also, it slows Alzheimer’s and may possible heal it, just for those who think it makes your memory so terrible. Did I mention the goverment has the reciepts for marijuana? “The United States government also owns a patent on marijuana as a medical application.”

It has varies functions and uses. It can’t only be smoked, but you can use it to cook with, you can make it into oil, it can be used as a moisturizer, it can be made into clothing and textiles. All parts of the plant can be used to make different things as well. How can something with so many NONTOXIC uses be bad?

It is one of the most least destructive vices you can have. How Many cases of domestic violence have been directly linked to marijuana? I mean just marijuana, not marijuana + alcohol or whatever else. Gambling, Drinking, Smoking Cigarettes, and so many other vices take a much worse psychological toll and physical toll on your body. Did you know marijuana has cannabanoids that heal your lung tissue? Did you know that it helps lower your blood pressure? Did you know that drinking can cause heart disease? of course you know that driving drunk could harm you or another person/people! But in reality, how many cases have been directly linked to someone just being high on marijuana? Now how many cases have been linked to someone being on Zoloft, or Paxil, or other anxiety medications or anti-depressants? There are plenty of law suits that have been paid or in motion against many of those companies for children committing suicide, or people murder suiciding because that stuff doesn’t work the same in everyone and can make your brain work in a way it doesn’t normally. Those drugs have the ability to make a normally depressive person, so depressive they kill someone, but yet, marijuana is illegal and this stuff is just a prescription or street corner away.

Because it’s reasonings for being illegal is crap and has always been crap. ““We have been terribly and systematically misled for nearly 70 years in the United States.”” - Sanjay Gupta. People were made to fear it because if you fear something, you do anything to keep it away. There are adults walking around thinking that marijuana gives men breasts. There are adults walking around thinking that if you smoke a joint that you will put a baby into an oven. It’s Propaganda like those things that have completely non-stupid adults saying parroting what they know about weed from people that know nothing about weed and so they vote against in it in ballots not realizing that it is tied to gay marriage or something like that so they are making two things illegal at once or voting that it not only be illegal but people get beheaded.

It doesn’t give you a “hangover” or “withdrawl symptoms” the same way other drugs do. Yeah, you can get pissy and short tempered without some ganja if you are a regular smoker, but you don’t start vomiting or sweating. Have you ever seen intervention? If you have or have been on hard drugs to know that it’s a pretty shitty thing to have to go through, even the withdrawl from alcohol can kill you. (Rest in peace Amy Winehouse) You can smoke a bunch of weed and still be fairly functional, not like if you drank a bunch of alcohol, or did a bunch of coke or shot a bunch of heroin. Also, the fact that you cannot overdose on it should tell you something.

Your Brain has a Specific System that USES endocannabinoids. Your body was made to ingest marijuana. You know why it stays in your body so long and isn’t pushed out like other ‘drugs’? Because it isn’t a toxin. It isn’t TOXIC to your body. Your pancreas and liver work together to break down toxins and take away the good parts of it and marijuana to your brain has no bad parts so it stays in your urine and blood stream longer than cocaine or heroin.

Because it’s enjoyable. Not to everyone, but I actually love how it looks, smells, makes me feel and also how it makes me feel around other people. Especially with anxiety, I can feel ‘normal’ around others. It destresses me. It helps my arthritis. I enjoy smoking it alone or with others. I don’t smoke and then go do terrible things to society, usually it’s just watching tv.

The Culture of it is so cool. The history of it’s uses, the historical figures who have smoked, movie references or about pot, the books, the music you can listen to or is about pot. It’s one of the most coolest cultures that isn’t centered around RACE. You can meet all sorts of cool people you normally wouldn’t all because of pot and you having that as a shared experience. There are so many different types of people who smoke or make marijuana products and don’t smoke themselves!

So, chill out. It’s just weed.
