An interesting documentary film titled, "Have a Good Trip : Adventures in Psychedelics" is due to be aired on Netflix this May featuring many celebrities recalling their psychedelic explorations ... their hallucinogenic highs and lows ! :D

The film features trippy stories from A-list actors, comedians and musicians including Bill Kreutzmann, Adam Scott, Nick Offerman, Sarah Silverman, Ad-Rock, Rosie Perez, A$AP Rocky, Paul Scheer, Nick Kroll, Rob Cordry and many more.

“Mixing comedy with a thorough investigation of psychedelics, 'HAVE A GOOD TRIP' explores the pros, cons, science, history, future, pop cultural impact and cosmic possibilities of hallucinogens,” read a press release.

“The film tackles the big questions: Can psychedelics have a powerful role in treating depression, addiction, and helping us confront our own mortality? Are we all made of the same stuff? Is love really all we need? Can trees talk?”

The film was written and directed by Donick Cary and produced by Mike Rosenstein, Sunset Rose Pictures, and Sugarshack 2000.

For those of us who still fancy a good read once in a while, there is a new book in the Psychedelic Head Space you must check out ... "Psychedelic Medicine : The Healing Powers of LSD, MDMA, Psilocybin and Ayahuasca" by Dr. Richard Louis Miller.

Embracing the revival of psychedelic research and the discovery of new therapeutic uses, Dr. Richard Louis Miller discusses what is happening today in psychedelic medicine and what will happen in the future with top researchers in this field, including Rick Doblin, Stanislav Grof, James Fadiman, Julie Holland, and Dennis McKenna.

Richard Louis Miller is a Clinical Psychologist, owner of Wilbur Hot Springs Health Sanctuary, and broadcaster who hosts the Mind Body Health & Politics radio program, a radio talk show which airs on NPR affiliate KZYX&Z FM. The program is known for its wide ranging discussions on politics and health, the show’s format includes guest interviews, guest speakers, and listener call in.

In 1990, while motorcycling, Dr Miller was hit by a recreational vehicle. In the resulting accident, the Winnebago ran over him crushing both of his legs. He kept himself alive using breathing stabilization techniques. In the emergency room he talked the attending physician out of amputating his legs which led to to a 15-hour surgery. This was the first of 6 surgeries. While in intensive care, Dr. Miller devised methods of coping with the psychological trauma, using visual imagery to aid the healing process. Given a prognosis of being paraplegic and using a wheelchair, he began rehabilitating himself by doing “wheel chair laps” around the hospital ward. Six months later he began walking on crutches, and he strapped them onto a motorcycle, drove back to the scene of his accident, and retraced the original accident multiple times in an attempt to remove the trauma from his mind, replacing it with “a perfect ride”.

Using special T bar crutches, he went on the complete 2 triathlons including swimming in San Francisco Bay. He used the same special crutches to run the 7 mile Golden Gate Bridge to Bay Bridge run in San Francisco with his former marathoning buddy Wayne Greene. Dr. Miller used this life changing event to deepen his understanding of himself and those suffering Post traumatic stress disorder. The implementation of those lessons soon followed, and he created a simple maxim, “Limits are self-imposed, and one needs to always be cautious of accepting the limitations (prognosis) imposed by others.”

Miller has been, a Marathon runner, Triathlete, Endurance swimmer, Downhill skier, Motorcyclist, pilot, bridge/poker/chess player, pistol marksman, classic car collector.

When not at Wilbur Hot Springs, he lives on a small farm with the love of his life, Jolee, and about 20 animals, in Mendocino County on California’s north coast.

Psychedelics and Meditative practices have the potential to heal us from all forms of psychosomatic illnesses by addressing the root cause of all trauma and painful experiences from the past. Here is a documentary film called "Psychedelic Therapy" which speaks about all of this and much more. Our awareness to the potential of psychedelics is key to co-creating a better reality for all of us.

Let's choose wisely !

Have you ever wondered what lies beyond what we superficially see? Have you ever contemplated the equation between religion, spirituality and plant medicine? Have you ever felt like extending the boundaries of your horizons and expanding your consciousness? Have you been considering trying plant medicine to check how it might benefit you? If your answer to any of the questions above is in the affirmative, then the documentary, The Reality of Truth,’ is tailor-made for you. Written and hosted by Mike "Zappy" Zapolin and Co-directed by Laurent Levy and Mike Zapolin, it is a must-see for those who aspire to grow their consciousness, experiment with plant medicine and surpass the supposed barrier of reality.

One of the most prominent features of the documentary, apart from the main message it shares, is the heartfelt interviews with prominent spiritual and thought leaders and celebrities including Deepak Chopra (alternative medicine advocate, speaker and bestselling author), Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (spiritual leader and founder of the Art of Living Foundation), Marianne Williamson (spiritual teacher and bestselling author), Ram Dass (spiritual teacher), Michelle Rodriguez (award winning actress, DJ and screenwriter), etc. These personalities share their profound experiences, emotions and thoughts, and how they took a chance to experience spirituality with the assistance of plant medicine.

With the assistance of honest endeavors, impactful words and powerful imagery, the documentary makes a case for letting go of the myths surrounding reality and plant medicine and accepting the reality of truth that the world may not always be ready to embrace or even hear. The buildup to the facts shared by the host presents a question as to whether the ancient plants referred to in religious texts could be the source of wisdom to find solutions to today's problems, including mass terrorism. Another question presented by the documentary is whether meditation was part of ancient wisdom/religion. The documentary further sheds light on the detail that despite accomplishing a lot in life, people may sometimes feel a void and this means that they need to expand their horizons and experience more.

Further, to solve society's problems, there is a need to transform our collective consciousness. The solution offered by ‘The Reality of Truth’ is to take inspiration from ‘Psychonauts’, sailors of the mind or people exploring inside their own minds. This is like nothing one has experienced before. There is something beyond what we see and we need to have faith to believe in what seems to be unreal. Furthermore, the documentary will help you realize the advantages of meditation by asserting the number of people who benefit from it all over the globe and even a Bible reference to the practice.

Foster Gamble, the man behind ‘Thrive’, accentuates that altering our consciousness leads to the shifting and expansion of our consciousness. The documentary will teach you that experiential spirituality, finding answers ourselves, can be a rewarding experience. It incites us to go beyond and ask questions we do not usually ask. The documentary and the words of wisdom shared by the notable personalities featured in it encourage us to have faith instead of fear while approaching the unknown. Also, drugs have several negative points linked with them but when they cure someone, it should be counted as medicine.

Perhaps the most important piece of wisdom shared by ‘The Reality of Truth’ is the real-life accounts of those who benefitted from plant medicine or psychedelics by bidding adieu to their addictions, including the alcohol problem of Bill Wilson, the founder of Alcoholic Anonymous and that of Gerard Powell, the founder of Rythmia Life Advancement Center. Both of them benefited from the experiences stemming from plant medicine (psychedelics) intake to the point that they got rid of their serious problems and turned their lives completely around for the better. In other words, plant medicine cured these people and many others around the globe.

Among other things, the documentary teaches us to take inspiration to meditate from Jerry Seinfeld, Oprah Winfrey, etc., capitalize on the experiences of Ram Dass to benefit from plant medicine to seek, feel motivated by the enlightening and loosening experience of Michelle Rodriguez and several others to let go after having San Pedro and conducting an Ayahuasca ceremony and experience spirituality and the feeling of a Supreme Being. Based on the experiences of those who are featured in the documentary, you may get rid of anxiety, depression, anger, hatred, inhibitions, and addictions and be a new you, lead a new life, and push the restart button. The documentary also discusses the breathing technique of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. According to him, by adjusting our breath, we can arrive at a higher state of consciousness.

The insights shared in the documentary by many make it clear that these experiences help one realize the way one wants one’s life to be. Zappy makes a point that plant medicine is illegal because of monetary reasons. Pharmaceutical companies wish to only sell petroleum-based medicine for monetary reasons, which do not actually cure and lead to several side effects. Plant medicine, meditation and breathing adjustment are among the tools that can assist one in going beyond and transforming their lives. The multilayered narratives of a diverse array of people featured in the documentary will definitely touch people and their lives for the better and you have to watch the whole thing to know what it actually says.

In sum, a person may find it easy or hard to believe some of views presented in the documentary since the subject is controversial but should still check it out because it is outside the box and compels people to ponder, experiment and go beyond what is generally acceptable. Life is supposed to be lived to the fullest or it goes to waste and ‘The Reality of Truth’ introduces a way of life to accomplish exactly that. You might transform your life like many in the documentary after being witness to the wonders of life, plant medicine and an expanded consciousness. Projects like this are few and far between and you must make the most of this. Highly recommended!

"True Hallucinations", yet another brilliant documentary on the life of Terence McKenna ... Aficionados of Terence McKenna need no introduction to the story that started it all. A journey through the Amazon basin becomes an experiment to hyper-carbolate human DNA, while the events spark the idea of an eschatological theory based on the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching.

Packed with alchemical ramblings about the concretisation of the hyperdimensional object that is accessible in the ecstasy of mushroom intoxication, this is a story not for the faint hearted!

The bizarre adventures of Terence McKenna, his brother Dennis, and a small band of their friends, is a wild ride of exotic experience and scientific inquiry. In search of mythical shamanic hallucinogens, they encounter a host of unusual characters—including a mushroom, a flying saucer, and the voice of the Other — and discover the missing link in the development of human consciousness and language.

My name is Peter Bergmann, I'm the creator of a 3+ hour long documentary movie about the ideas of Terence McKenna, which I made available to watch in its entirety on YouTube.

It was a result of many years of work, and while my summer and all time went into the production last year, it was clear that the 'Experiment at La Chorrera' would be impossible to incorporate into the already lengthy project. Also, it felt as a separate entity, and a story so outlandish, it couldn't possibly be translated into any kind of visual experience, mostly because of the lack of actual material.

(With the Terence McKenna movie, I had hundreds of hours of audio and many videos to choose bits and pieces from, but there is very little tangible material for True Hallucinations, except of course the 9+ hour long talking book.)

The documentary above is highly recommended to be conquered on a long summer weekend, you can help my efforts by liking/sharing/commenting, thank you!

As a consequence of an unbearable itch to continue expanding the McKenna universe, it became obvious to me in recent months that 'True Hallucinations' can reach its fruition.

I've already finished some sequences which prove to me that it would be foolish not to release it to an audience, even though the full and finished product might suffer in the area of consistent quality.

I feel it's necessary to push the envelope on this one, and so I launched this campaign boldly, to gather funds for hardware costs that I'm encountering, and to finance sequences that require the help of other artists, most importantly animated parts, where there is no other way to tell the story.

Terence McKenna's words are poetry to those who know how to listen, and I'm confident the movie I created called 'The Transcendental Object At The End Of Time' provides the viewer with plenty visits from the alchemical angel.

'True Hallucinations' on the other hand strives for something much stranger, it is a set of experiments and ideas that perhaps seem like 'the ravings of an unhinged mind', as Terence often put it, yet the story carries with it an eerie sense of gnostic truth that cannot be ignored, and I believe must be packaged for new generations of psychonauts who will always be drawn to the work of the McKenna brothers.

Why are so many people all across the world changing their diet and lifestyle to something more in harmony with the natural ways ? Why are so many countries urging their citizens to move to a vegan diet ? Animal husbandry apparently is one of the major causes for global warming also discussed at length in a recent documentary film called, "Cowspiracy". Consuming meat for us humans isn't the best choice and comes at the price of our health.

Our bodies tend to wear out faster when we live on meat based diet. On the contrary, its proven that vegans live a much longer and healthier life. There may be some exceptions though, for example in cold temperate climates where its hard to grow fruit and veggies, humans need to eat some sort of meat to survive and in such circumstances eating fish and other sea food may be the only option. We must however, try and eat more of fresh, organic fruit and veggies as much as possible to maintain optimum health.

Here are some interesting videos discussing why we should be moving towards a vegan diet ....

Finally, each one of us has the power to change things by taking small steps in the right direction. If one truly loves all animals it shouldn't be that difficult to give up eating meat, but for most part, people say they love animals, namely their pets or other exotic creatures which perhaps don't make it to our plates.

We have the power to change ourselves and help others who wish to do the same ... For the rest of the crowd who still wish to continue the killing, we can only wish them well and allow their destinies to unfold as they have to. Everything which has come into form will finally return to its original formless state. Learning and growth for the formless happens while being in the form and we always create our realities and experiences by the choices we make, consciously or unconsciously.

May we awaken compassion in our hearts for all living beings and allow our true divine nature to guide us rather being driven by our limited egos.
