An interesting documentary film titled, "Have a Good Trip : Adventures in Psychedelics" is due to be aired on Netflix this May featuring many celebrities recalling their psychedelic explorations ... their hallucinogenic highs and lows ! :D

The film features trippy stories from A-list actors, comedians and musicians including Bill Kreutzmann, Adam Scott, Nick Offerman, Sarah Silverman, Ad-Rock, Rosie Perez, A$AP Rocky, Paul Scheer, Nick Kroll, Rob Cordry and many more.

“Mixing comedy with a thorough investigation of psychedelics, 'HAVE A GOOD TRIP' explores the pros, cons, science, history, future, pop cultural impact and cosmic possibilities of hallucinogens,” read a press release.

“The film tackles the big questions: Can psychedelics have a powerful role in treating depression, addiction, and helping us confront our own mortality? Are we all made of the same stuff? Is love really all we need? Can trees talk?”

The film was written and directed by Donick Cary and produced by Mike Rosenstein, Sunset Rose Pictures, and Sugarshack 2000.

The Entheogenic use of plant based potions by humans isn't something new and there is enough evidence indicating that this was common practice for our ancestors who knew the psychoactive properties of these brews and the powers they hold within to awaken us to the true spiritual nature of our reality.

For nearly 2000 years, as many as three thousand Greeks shared similar visionary experiences in the town of Eleusis while celebrating the great Eleusinian Mysteries.

In this inaugural video of "Ancient Greece Revisited" we explore the possible use of psychedelics in the Greek world. We follow a thread connecting the most sacred of rituals, the "Great Mysteries of Eleusis," to the discovery of LSD by Albert Hofmann in the midst of WW2, and from there, to a new, psychedelic view of the entirety of Greek culture.

( Click on the YouTube player window for sub-titles in Spanish, French and Greek. )

The Great Mystery was a six day festival observed at harvest time that symbolized the cycle of death and rebirth.

What began as a local festival, the Eleusinian Mysteries eventually became a defining piece of Athenian citizenship. The sixth day of festivities included ingestion of a portion known as the 'Kykeon'.

Upon ingestion, initiates described a gradual entrance into ecstasy accompanied by physical symptoms including vertigo, nausea, cold sweats, fear, and trembling.

These physical symptoms were met with mystical visions, or epopteia – an aura of brilliant light that appeared within the Hall.

The festival of the mysteries took place twice a year, in spring and in autumn, but the former was not so great and important as the latter. The mysteries, whose origins date to the prehellenic era, became particularly popular when Eleusis came under sovereignty of Athens. In the 5th century B.C. the telesterion—the great hall of mysteries was built there.

In this building the most important part of the ritual is supposed to have occurred: the ingestion of the kykeon, the mysterious sacrament that caused in participants intensive psychic changes, which cleared their souls, and made them accept death not so much as harm as a blessing, as one of the ancient diarists reported. In the late Roman period the mysteries no longer took place every year, and the cult was finally destroyed in 395 A.D. or the year after it when the troops of Alaric demolished the temple at Eleusis.

Ergot, a parasite that grows on barley, emits ergometrine and d-lysergic acid amide, a chemical precursor to LSD that exhibits similar psychedelic effects and a DEA schedule III drug in the United States. After ingesting the kykeon, the participant enters the final portion of the journey, wherein the most secret aspects of the mystery are revealed, with many experiencing visions pertaining to the possibility of eternal life. The influence of mind altering drugs is believed to bolster the individual's reaction to the final step and help the Eleusinian Mysteries survive for nearly two thousand years against a plethora of other mystery cults and the rise of Christianity in Rome.

In the first recorded literary source of the Mysteries at Eleusis, the kykeon brew was described as consisting of barley, water, and mint.

The barley found in fields near Eleusis was often infested with a fungal growth known as ergot, the compound commonly believed to be the psychoactive agent in the kykeon. In 1938, Swiss chemist Albert Hoffman first synthesized LSD from ergotamine, a chemical derived from ergot.

After this discovery, Hoffman pursued the notion that the entheogenic experience induced by the kykeon portion at Eleusis resulted from the same chemical makeup as that found in another entheogen: LSD. The term Entheogen comes from the Greek root, entheos (God within) and gen- (becoming), or “becoming a god within.”

The writings left behind describing the experiences at Eleusis are strikingly similar to those of other ancient psychedelic experiences induced by entheogens, such as Ayahuasca in the Amazon, the Blue Water Lily in Egypt, and the Soma in India.

Ancient entheogen users often cited a connection to a divine realm or entity, mystical and indescribable visions, the dissolution of the ego or self, and subsequent acceptance of death – all common themes in today’s well-known psychedelics including DMT (dimethyltryptamine), mescaline, LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide), and sacred mushrooms (psilocybin).

Throughout recorded history in both ancient and modern times, many entheogen users in widely varying cultures and geographic areas depict comparable encounters.

If these same rites of passage and mystical experiences can be found throughout history and in so many divergent cultures, could these sacred and transformative entheogenic experiences be the true foundation of religion and man’s relationship with the divine?

So, it does seem like Hofmann's Elixir, LSD, is the new Eleusis !

HAHAHAHA .... The Truth Serum and Politics definitely don't go well together ! This one has got to be the funniest trip reports I've come across lately ... Hilarious as F%$^K if one can imagine what a 'self inflicted psychedelic ordeal' these guys went through !!! :D

Last week, Redditor /u/flipper8088 posted a detailed trip journal on the “psychonaut” section of Reddit, describing his experience at a Donald Trump rally while under the influence of LSD. Many have compared this journey with the style of “Gonzo Journalism” that Hunter S Thompson was recognized for throughout his career. Today, it is actually surprisingly common for journalists and thrill seekers of other varieties to attend important events while under the influence of psychedelic drugs so they can”take it all in.”

In the case of the Trump rally trippers, they were not pleased with what they experienced.

Their entry titled “Went to a Donald Trump speech on acid SUPER BAD VIBES,” can be read in full below:

“It was a stupid idea to begin with honestly. First my friends wanted to go to the Trump rally just for fun even when they don’t support his ideas. Then in the car on the way there one of my friends tells me he just got a hold of some acid and that it would be hilarious to be tripping at a Donald Trump speech, just to say we did it n that it’ll be funny story to look back on. So we all just say f*** it and drop 2 hits each. Bad idea. We walk into the place and just know that something is very wrong. The tension in the air was flowing through our bodies, everyone looked angry about something. 10 minutes pass and we all realize we must escape from this hell on earth before we lose every ounce of sanity we have left. We head for the exits, it’s packed with people and security. WE WONT MAKE IT! We all agree and head back to our seats. (We could’ve made it we were just tripping too hard to be rational) Trump comes out and the whole building starts shaking with chants of USA! USA! USA! It was proud patriotism with an undertone of depraved violence, you could feel it. We all look at each other with the most dreadful look in our eyes knowing we just f***ed ourselves into oblivion. I might post the rest of the story later when I have time ...

“Edit: Rest of story: I put both my arms around my friends and tell them I love them deeply and that we will make it through this experience together, like always. This seemed to reassure my friends a little and it also gave me a sense of comfort that I had 2 trustful companions by my side, even if their minds were being fucked beyond measure at the moment. If anything, genuine trust and unconditional love was the only savior we had left.

“The peak started intensify about 5 minutes (or was it 5 seconds) into his speech. We were sitting on the left side (ground level) about 150 feet away from Mr trump. Got a terrific view of his exquisite hairpiece in person that seemed to have a mind of its own as it was breathing and taking on different forms throughout the whole speech. The visuals were up to par with around 200 ug in my experience, some rare strong street acid, just my luck in this situation. My mind begins to wander as I stop forwarding my conscious attention to his rhetoric and start observing people in the crowd. Started to think about how weird the human race is.

“The woman in front of me had brought 5 of her kids to this rowdy cesspool. All her kids kept glancing and staring at us. One peeked around the corner of his stroller stared straight into my f***ing soul for I don’t know how long and then proceeds to point out how big my pupils are. “Mommy, look how big his eyes are. The Mother hears it glances at me with the most heinous expression on her face, she definitely knew.

“I Start paying attention to Trump again and his face starts to subtly melt. The melting intensifies until his face looks like a wax statue thrown into a furnace. I point this out to my friends and they start seeing it. Try holding back laughter on 2 hits of strong acid, it doesn’t work and we burst out laughing while Mr Trump is speaking, he pauses his speech but doesn’t pay us any mind as we cover our mouth quickly. Everyone around us knew we were on something though.

“Protesters in the crowd kept yelling things and were getting dragged out by security. Lol one guy yells ‘TRUMP DID 9/11! open your eyes to the truth’ This is when I realized the opposition is just as idiotic as the supporters. As a country we are digging our own graves. I start to look at myself and fell into a deep state of personal introspection. What was the motive for me taking this action anyway? Why was I here at a trump rally on 2 hits of LSD? Was I searching for some hidden truth by way of chemicals? Or was I here for good fun? I was just as irrational as the others I looked down upon.

“You know how sometimes YOU have ‘moments of eternity’ on LSD. Yeah well that was happening all night, the speech felt like it kept looping over and over and over and over and over. Muslims this, guns this, illegals that, something about Hilary Clinton being disgusting by using the restroom. Then every 5 minutes after a bold statement, the crowd erupts into mindless cheers and applause. Endless time loop. This when I actually convinced myself that I was living out the novel 1984. I genuinely believed this. Trump was big brother HOLY SHIT AN EPIPHANY. TRUMP IS BIG BROTHER. Yeah this when the trip started to take a bad turn again but wait a miracle. THE LOOP IS OVER. WE’RE SAVED. THE DEVIL IS DONE WITH HIS RHETORIC. The speech was over. we can get out of this zoo now. We figure we’re all too f***ed up to drive so we call someone to pick us up. After that we had a deep discussion about politics, America, Philosophy, Trumps hairpiece and how incredibly idiotic we are.”

Long before I adventured down the rabbit hole of awareness through meditation, magic and psychedelics I was someone altogether different. I spent a great deal of my college time doing what everyone else in college was doing: partying, drinking and generally living a life of endless hedonism. Those were fun days and I don’t feel bad about them, but I will say that no matter how much I tried to fill the cup that was my being with pleasure and experience, everything always seemed to fall short.

One night despondent and tired of the excess lifestyle that accompanied the college campus, I wound up staying home rather than go out for yet another night on the town. Going through my backlog of books I stumbled upon something that would profoundly change my life. It was an edition of “The CELTIC ANIMAL ORACLE”. These were medicine cards, each one symbolizing the power and spirit of a specific totem animal.

Now maybe it’s because my bloodline stretched back to the Celts, maybe it was because I had always had a passing interest in tarot/medicine cards, but the words in the Oracle’s guide book really spoke to me. As a cynic I had all but abandoned any form of religion or spirituality, and yet this book and the animals on the cards really spoke to me and I soon found myself memorizing their meanings, names and stories. It wasn’t long before I started doing card readings for myself and others as well. It was a fun pastime and study and with the benefit of hindsight, one of my first steps into becoming a more meditative and spiritual person.

Fast forward fifteen years, I had now found myself a tarot deck that spoke to me (The Osho Zen Tarot) and had taken to studying it intimately. I knew these cards, or at least I thought I did. It would take me one trip down the rabbit hole in Montreal to help me realize that as much as I thought I had learned to read my cards, I had a long way to go before I could call myself a remotely competent tarot card reader.

Up until that point all my readings had been by rote. I would repeat memorized card definitions, like a parrot and while people enjoyed the readings I gave them I couldn’t help but feel that I was just skimming the surface of something far greater and larger. That if I could just meditate enough or practice enough that my tarot cards would somehow speak even more to me.

It was during a wonderful acid trip with my then girlfriend, now wife, that we decided that enough was enough, if we wanted to be good card readers we would need to really engage not just with the superficial image drawn into these magical cards, but past them to the energy and spirit that they all tapped into. On a practical/therapeutic level Tarot is a lot like an ink-blot test, everyone sees and identifies with the imagery on the cards differently. Just on cold reading alone I could gauge what a person was going through based on how they reacted to the cards.

Over time I’ve come to believe that the cards also act as windows into another small world composed solely of the energy/ideas the card is trying to represent. If you look hard and long enough you can actually see this world come to life in front of you. But try explaining that concept to a non-believer without them getting uncomfortable and wishing to change the subject.

Up until I had tried psychedelics and card reading together at once, I had never been able to see that connection. It was something I believed but had yet to experience. And that one night with my wife changed everything. For some reason we decided that we would spread out all the cards from all six of our tarot decks (come people collect stamps, we collect tarot decks) and spread them out across the floor of our apartment. The air was thick with different energies and personalities as we stared in wonder at the vast tapestry of cards that we had created before us.

All of them seemed to work together and as we dropped more and more cards next to each other in an ever-expanding spiral we could see how a card could represent the energy the accompanying guide-book said it possessed. We could see the ideas and emotions that they wanted to convey.

And we came to realize that while they may not be alive, that each and every Tarot deck, like a cat, has its own personality. Psychedelics allowed me to see and engage with these personalities far better.

I remember staring into a card for what felt like hours, but was later revealed to be minutes and losing myself in the world drawn on it. I could see the leaves in the trees moving to and fro, I could almost see the people on the card moving. It was incredible and while a cynic might have dismissed that as me just being under the influence of a psychedelic drug, I know that what I realized and experienced was quite real.

My deck of cards, the one that I read on my YouTube channel, the one I’ve been reading for the past eighteen years, is imbued with an energy that has only given it more and more personality. It always drops the right card for the right occasion. It speaks to everyone and anyone I do a reading for and on that topic, my readings have become clearer over time. Psychedelics have seriously helped with that process.

It was as if I hadn’t even been speaking to the deck during all those years until that very day. And even now as I write down these words I can’t believe we’d never thought to try that. Psychedelics and magic/spirituality do have a part to play with each other. I do not think it a coincidence that the majority of first nation and indigenous cultures appear to have their own psychedelic ritual, often associated with healing and growth.

It is obvious that these trips down the rabbit hole are not just simple states of intoxication. Rather they are doorways to different states of awareness, perhaps even putting us in the receptive condition we need to be in order to communicate with this higher form or thought and consciousness. All drugs alter our awareness and bring us to a different place. Some of these places are great others not so great. And through the many years of my spirit/magic studies I have experienced the good, the bad and many spectrums in-between.

It is difficult to clearly explain with words these concepts to someone who chooses to neither believe or recognize the sacred reality we tap into while in this altered state. It would be just as hard to explain color to the blind or an I-phone to an ant. The state, the higher consciousness that the psychonaut/spiritualist community is taping into is something beyond words, beyond even dare I say Human understanding. We are wired in these biological computers to experience the universe in one way, using finite minds, lives, words and notions to explain the infinite and beyond.

But we are ever changing, ever improving, ever growing and with each generation we come closer and closer to realizing our sacred place in the universe and the role we can play in it. Will psychedelic use be the answer to the question? I don’t know, but I do know that they will be part of the answer.

What I can say is that they serve as a guide point, they point us in a direction, and it remains up to us whether we will take those directions or not. Some of us will get lost but in the end I believe we can all find our way. Some of us sooner, some of us later. In any case we will all make it to that sacred elevated place, in this life or the next.

Until we meet again.
In love, light and laughter.
Be well

Times have certainly changed since the Hippie Heaven of the sixties ... Peace, Love, Unity and Respect have been conveniently replaced by materialistic desires and greed. We have become so power hungry in our race to nowhere that we have forgotten what it is to be human. Our inner divinity cries out to be recognized, however in vain as our limited egos seem to have it all figured out, but only for as long as we allow our egos to stay in control. Some of us who like to self medicate using all kinds of psychedelic substances need to watch out for what we allow to enter our state of consciousness. Every substance no matter what its sold to us as, has a powerful effect on our lives, often underestimated by exuberant psychonauts, willing to accept any and all lethal combinations in unknown quantities and dozes.

LSD is a powerful tool to be used for inner exploration and self discovery. Sadly, a lot of the LSD blotters sold out there today are research chemicals such as NBOME, DOB, etc ... There are so many different kinds of research chemicals out there, being freely sold online and way cheaper than the real deal. This has made it possible for some greedy people to take advantage of the situation and do whats best for business, jeopardizing lives of others who often believe they had a bad trip on ACID, whereas the real culprit is the research chemical which is sold as LSD in most places !

There are some tell tale signs which can help one identify if the blotter has clean LSD or not. Firstly, most of the genuine LSD blotters I have seen have been kind of thick and with no taste at all, or at times a minty taste (in the form of drops), which I was told is a way to keep it undetected or to store it for longer. The bitter ones which have a strong metallic taste to them are the ones which are not acid but some research chemical, most probably one of the NBOME series. Check Erowid for more about this ! The NBOME Blotter is hence termed, "Bitter Spitter" indicating its not LSD and needs to be spat out as soon as you figure what it is. As beautiful, magical and joyous a journey on LSD can be, the contrasting research chemical experience can be unnerving, chaotic, confusing ... with its effects lasting at least 12 hours or more even on small dozes.

LSD isn't something one needs to chase all the time. A powerful LSD experience once in a lifetime can be good enough to propel one on his/her soul path towards a deeper understanding of existence and our purpose being here. Its definitely not something one needs to keep doing too frequently as it can be damaging to the psyche to say the least, possibly leading to other complications. The psychedelic experience, coupled with Yoga, Meditation and other forms of energy work can open powerful pathways towards greener pastures, unexplored.

The psychedelic experience is a shamanic ritual which is best experienced out there in the wilderness, soaked within the healing forest frequencies which unite us all. We may not have our forests as the perfect setting, but we do have this thing called 'intuition' deeply seated within us all, which when awakened allows us to have some sort of a vision ... a sense of knowing ... which helps us make more life affirming choices.

The War on Drugs has made criminals out of users while the illegal drug industry continues to flourish putting all users at potential risk as long as it remains in the hands of unscrupulous criminals and the international drug mafia. The drug problem is being addressed by the Global Commission on Drug Policy who believe its time to legally regulate the use of all substances if we have to win this forever ongoing war on drugs which has done more harm than solve the problem at hand.

Most people have little or no authentic information about drugs and their effects and there seems to be some sort of a taboo when it comes to discussing the topic. The masses need to be educated not misinformed and lied to about Drugs ... Entheogens used by mankind for who knows how long ...

Kofi Annan, Richard Branson and eight other ex-presidents who are part of the Global Commission on Drug Policy, strongly urge that drugs should be a matter for health professionals, not the police, in a new report released recently.

“Overwhelming evidence points to not just the failure of the drug control regime to attain its stated goals but also the horrific unintended consequences of punitive and prohibitionist laws and policies,” states the study, published by the Global Commission on Drug Policy (GCDP) last week.

“A new and improved global drug control regime is needed that better protects the health and safety of individuals and communities around the world,” the report says. “Harsh measures grounded in repressive ideologies must be replaced by more humane and effective policies shaped by scientific evidence, public health principles and human rights standards.”

For the first I really feel there is something sensible being done about the drug problem our world faces at large, thanks to the illegality. Can we finally see real change manifesting in our lives ... I think we have good reason to be hopeful :)

Here are some interesting points discussed in the report submitted by the Global Commission on Drug Policy ..

" A new and improved global drug control regime is needed that better protects the health and safety of individuals and communities around the world. Harsh measures grounded in repressive ideologies must be replaced by more humane and effective policies shaped by scientific evidence, public health principles and human rights standards. This is the only way to simultaneously reduce drug-related death, disease and suffering and the violence, crime, corruption and illicit markets associated with ineffective prohibitionist policies. The fiscal implications of the policies we advocate, it must be stressed, pale in comparison to the direct costs and indirect consequences generated by the current regime. "

" The Global Commission proposes five pathways to improve the global drug policy regime. After putting people ́s health and safety at the center of the picture, governments are urged to ensure access to essential medicines and pain control. The Commissioners call for an end to the criminalization and incarceration of users together with targeted prevention, harm reduction and treatment strategies for dependent users. "

" In order to reduce drug related harms and undermine the power and profits of organized crime, the Commission recommends that governments regulate drug markets and adapt their enforcement strategies to target the most violent and disruptive criminal groups rather than punish low level players. The Global Commission’s proposals are complimentary and comprehensive. They call on governments to rethink the problem, do what can and should be done immediately, and not to shy away from the transformative potential of regulation. "

One of the recommendations made by the commission states as follows ...

" Allow and encourage diverse experiments in legally regulating markets in currently illicit drugs, beginning with but not limited to cannabis, coca leaf and certain novel psychoactive substances.

Much can be learned from successes and failures in regulating alcohol, tobacco, pharmaceutical drugs and other products and activities that pose health and other risks to individuals and societies.

New experiments are needed in allowing legal but restricted access to drugs that are now only available illegally. This should include the expansion of heroin-assisted treatment for some long-term dependent users, which has proven so effective in Europe and Canada. Ultimately the most effective way to reduce the extensive harms of the global drug prohibition regime and advance the goals of public health and safety is to get drugs under control through responsible legal regulation. "

Marijuana in Colorado

The legalization of Marijuana in Colorado for recreational use has created over 10,000 jobs in the state and has helped boost the overall economy there apart from lowering the crime rate.

The State of Washington recently opened their first few pot shops, almost 2 years after the state legalized Cannabis. Here is a video about it ... People seem extremely over joyed with the way things have turned out in their state.

Can we all learn from this and educate people around us about drugs rather than teaching the world to hate what they don't fully understand ?

With Uruguay leading the way by legalizing the regulated use of Cannabis which has effectively set an example for others to take cue from, there seems to be hope for real change manifesting in our life time. Here are some interesting videos about the Legalization of Cannabis in Uruguay ...

There are places around the world where people still use Cannabis freely for religious and spiritual practices. These are people who have come to understand the potential of these plant based substances in helping us attain mystical states of consciousness which help us heal and rejuvenate our spirit.

Steve Jobs was always very open about his psychedelic use in the mainstream media sharing his positive LSD story with the masses. He said LSD helped him find solutions to complex problems which he otherwise found hard to crack.

Broadly considered a brand that inspires fervour and defines cool consumerism, 'Apple' has become one of the biggest corporations in the world, fuelled by game-changing products that tap into modern desires. Its leader, Steve Jobs, was a long-haired college dropout with infinite ambition, and an inspirational perfectionist with a bully's temper. A man of contradictions, he fused a Californian counterculture attitude and a mastery of the art of hype with explosive advances in computer technology.

Insiders including Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, the chairman who ousted Jobs from the company he founded, and Jobs' chief of software, tell extraordinary stories of the rise, fall and rise again of Apple with Steve Jobs at its helm.

With Stephen Fry, world wide web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee and branding guru Rita Clifton, Evan Davis decodes the formula that took Apple from a suburban garage to global supremacy.

Biography :

Steven Paul Jobs (February 24, 1955 -- October 5, 2011) was an American businessman and inventor widely recognized as a charismatic pioneer of the personal computer revolution. He was co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Apple Inc. Jobs was co-founder and previously served as chief executive of Pixar Animation Studios; he became a member of the board of directors of The Walt Disney Company in 2006, following the acquisition of Pixar by Disney.

In the late 1970s, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak engineered one of the first commercially successful lines of personal computers, the Apple II series. Jobs directed its aesthetic design and marketing along with A.C. "Mike" Markkula, Jr. and others.

In the early 1980s, Jobs was among the first to see the commercial potential of Xerox PARC's mouse-driven graphical user interface, which led to the creation of the Apple Lisa (engineered by Ken Rothmuller and John Couch) and, one year later, of Apple employee Jef Raskin's Macintosh. After losing a power struggle with the board of directors in 1985, Jobs left Apple and founded NeXT, a computer platform development company specializing in the higher-education and business markets.

In 1986, he acquired the computer graphics division of Lucasfilm Ltd, which was spun off as Pixar Animation Studios. He was credited in Toy Story (1995) as an executive producer. He remained CEO and majority shareholder at 50.1 percent until its acquisition by The Walt Disney Company in 2006, making Jobs Disney's largest individual shareholder at seven percent and a member of Disney's Board of Directors.

In 1996, NeXT was acquired by Apple. The deal brought Jobs back to the company he co-founded, and provided Apple with the NeXTSTEP codebase, from which the Mac OS X was developed." Jobs was named Apple advisor in 1996, interim CEO in 1997, and CEO from 2000 until his resignation. He oversaw the development of the iMac, iTunes, iPod, iPhone, and iPad and the company's Apple Retail Stores.

In 2003, Jobs was diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer. Though it was initially treated, Jobs reported of a hormone imbalance, underwent a liver transplant in 2009, and appeared progressively thinner as his health declined. In August 2011, during his third medical leave, Jobs resigned as CEO, but continued to work for Apple as Chairman of the Board until his death.

On October 5, 2011, he died in his Palo Alto home, aged 56. His death certificate listed respiratory arrest as the immediate cause of death, with "metastatic pancreas neuroendocrine tumor" as the underlying cause. His occupation was listed as "entrepreneur" in the "high tech" business.

TANTRIC KRIYA YOGA

The Great Tantra of the conversion of the physical body into the body of light occurs from the identification of the mind with the explosive force of the openness to the light. This practice creates a new awareness that we are also a body of light. In the sexual act if our focus is on the energy moving throughout the body, in particular the spine and deep brain rapture. Both partners can practice this conductivity during the sexual act. It intensifies the sensual experience and allows the male to have control of giving the woman prolonged pleasure. The male may climax several times in the pleasure center in the head. Then the release as desired through the genitals. The woman feels greater sensation internally and is moved to the light.

We may see light especially when we release into a conscious climax. This is why sex and death are so closely related.

A Kriya technique is sitting crossed legged on each other during a psychedelic session and breathe rhythmically each other’s breath consciously. This produces the experience of the conductivity through both beings.

As we let go of our last breath riding the energy to the apex in the top of the head, called the crown chakra, we merge into the great light above the head. Bringing the energy to the head during the sexual act a inner climax occurs. Tantric yogis can do this again and again. Then a release can occur at will. Through this process multiple climaxes will occur. ‘The practice of Kriya yoga has an auto erotic quality, as the energy moves up from the gentalia region to the mid brain.

This process can be cultivated through Kriya Yoga while we are in this body. Whereby in our meditation we conduct the energy up and down the spine. Feeling and experiencing its resonance in our mid brain is a profound ecstasy.

KRIYA YOGA THE BODY OF LIGHT

Eventually you will know yourself in a new form that of a light body. In the Tibetan tradition it is called rainbow body. The energy body or a body of light is within the capacity of the human experience. It can be crystallized by being aware of another dimension, which is beyond the mind.

The Yogi experiences a feeling of bliss, which is unifying by nature. It can be seen as light and often felt as Joy. And doing the practice of Kriya yoga, during the pause between breaths. There is a cessation of thought abiding in the presence of pure Being.

We become aware of worlds beyond mind and form as we know it. This becomes crystallized or held without any obstructions and is radiant light in all directions. From our present point of view. It is immortality. This is not a concept. It cannot be held by mind or memory. There is nothing to identify with. It simply is. A halo sometimes can be seen around the body being or at the least a sense of experience of a sphere of light. This is the Light body in the Tibetan tradition, the rainbow body. There may be psychedelic states in which this light body is momentarily revealed to us on experiential level. However, it is not held on to, or crystallized in this field of awareness. The Yogi knows this through the vehicle of the conductivity of the breath., and is able with practice to crystallize the rainbow body . You are this body of light. This world of the duality, is but a shadow world of thought, sound and form emanating from the body of light.

FEELING THE CENTERS

Each of the nerve plexus or Chakras in the body mind being can open to your higher emotional mind which allows us to perceive experientially a whole different dimension of reality beyond thought. This experience can become crystallized within the being and allow us to move into a body of light. The Kriya Yogi learns to master the movement of energy using the body as a vehicle to conduct the light through the centers. Each center has a distinct feeling and a higher emotional octave. In the lower center sex center one can feel the heat, and pleasure in the vital center just below the navel one can feel a sense of energetic vitality and strength. Then as one moves into the heart center we can feel a feeling of goodness of warmth of love that moves out beyond the confines of the physical body... The throat center often called the center of action has a vibrant quality of a different kind energy and felt as if to project out. Then we moved into the medulla oblongata at the base of the cranium this is where the pleasure center is located and the old brain a very important center to Kriya yogis since this is where you lift the muscles in the back of the neck. This activates the pleasure centers in the reptilian brain and contributes to whole brain rapture As this lifting process occurs we feel pressure on the pineal gland or third eye which feels like an opening to new sense of awareness the energy apex in the center of the head. This center is often depicted in Southeast Asian Buddha’s as a flame above the head. As these centers open we feel full body rapture. In yoga this is know as the bliss sheath.

A simple exercise to master the feeling of each center would be to take even breaths in and out feeling each of the centers independent of one another.

As you breathe in and out feel sense of pleasure in the coccyx. Then move the attention into the solar plexus, the stomach often drops as it relaxes and a sense of vitality and strength can be felt as you breathe in and out. Martial artist often practice this form of breathing. Now move the attention to the heart center you can feel it as deep emotional love. Then move to the throat center one feels almost a sense of vitality as you do from the vital center but different. Then breathe and feel the seat of consciousness the medulla oblongata. It can be felt as pleasure. this activation of the pleasure center can often bring the entire body energies unite and the whole brain feels that it is if it is lit up. Now breathing in and out through the penal body I you will feel distinct feeling and pressure their also a very peaceful enjoyable sense of self. Finally the crown center opens automatically but it feels is if something is rising up in and about the body like a flame this can be felt very subtle extremely subtle. Enjoy the breath and joy of your being.

The feeling of the centers is particularly acute under the influence of various phycedelic substances. As you become aware of these centers, it will contribute to the Kriya conductivity of the breath.

TRANSCENDENCE OF AN OPEN HEART

The art work below shows the energy moving upward from the heart to the head. The Ka or soul as the Egyptians called it.

PSYCHEDELIC KRIYA YOGA

The use of psychoactive plants in the early history of mankind for spiritual and metaphysical purposes has been well documented in many of the ancient cultures. As I mentioned before the 18 Siddhas of southern India, the early Taoists use of various of chemical potions for immortality, and the unrecorded prehistory of literature seen in signs and symbols in the Mayan Aztec and Toltec cultures as well as your eastern Indian and Taoist cultures.

In using primarily psychedelic drugs today we are able to go within and be very sensitive to the movement of energies and feelings in the body and even have the experience all of the light body as well. But to use these chemicals whether they are natural or man-made without yoga is like a ship in a storm without a Rudder. It's not that you can control the experience but you can participate with it in a particular way. As I mentioned earlier in feeling the various centers in the body when this practice is engaged in with the use of psychedelics, deep feelings and ecstasy is aroused from the various centers. This indeed is a fast-forward way of learning yogic practices. Unfortunately due to the social misinformation and fear of psychedelic drugs this use of learning and knowledge of an inner being has been dismissed and labeled hallucinatory. The idea of the modern Shaman or Yogi would be to be able to enter these non-ordinary states almost at will under
the right circumstances and enjoy the bliss and ecstasy at will without the use of drugs... This takes some practice while using psychoactive substances but is well worth while. To be able to enter the states of oneness and be opened to divine love is one of the greatest tasks a man can take with use of this body being.
Interestingly enough in my own case I had by chance or effort come to the end of the great search to find myself, to understand and to experience a direct relationship with God when the search ended my inner life really began without the limitation intention of trying to achieve a particular goal or state.

THE ALCHEMY OF KRIYA YOGA

The elixir of immortality is felt as the life force rising up the spine. Plant medicine and supplements assist in the alchemical transformation.
.
In the ancient recorded traditions of Taoism and yoga often herbal and mineral mixtures were used along with elixirs, for good health, wellbeing and immortality. Many of these potions have been lost or hidden in symbolic rhetoric. Soma in India is a good example of this. Today we have smart drugs and supplements which affect master glands, the Pituitary, Pineal and hypothalamus which orchestrate our hormone secretions.
The brain is our greatest sensual pleasure organ when we learn how to activate through Kriya Yoga we can experience states of bliss and rapture at will.

This was my desire when I first started taking psychedelics since I would feel pressure in the pituitary region of the brain third eye and feel pleasure and intensity in the mid brain. There are a few herbal products that affect the mid brain directly much in the same way psychedelics do without the depletion that can follow a trip.

Dopa Bean Mucuna Pruiens, has a high degree of dopamine. High levels of dopamine improve sex drive and memory. It stimulates the Pituitary gland to produce growth hormone. Although dopamine is associated with movement the inner movement of Kriya Yoga is also amplified. Mushrooms and LSD cause a dramatic release of dopamine in the brain often when you are high you want to dance and you have a sense of vitality.
The yogi, through Kriya yoga is able to stimulate the pineal and pituitary gland using the breath and inner pumps to saturate the brain with nutrient laden blood.

By ingesting Dopa Mucuna and doing Kriya yoga the pituitary gland releases DMT. This would explain when doing the Kriya practice there is a flight into the light. There are a large range of anti-oxidants when delivered to the mid brain create an enhancement of the sensation of whole brain rapture. I use a large range of noontopics and supplements for longevity, health and a feeling of wellbeing. I suggest reading “Brain Longevity” by Dr. Dharma Singh Khalsa MD. This book describes in detail the health benefits and variety of brain mind products. Supplements react differently with each of us. You need to experiment and see what results you achieve. High doses of anti oxidants driven to the mid brain create a rapture. Some that I use regularly are DMG, Alpha Lipoic Acid. C Q 10, DMAE and Phosphatidyserine to name a few. I am always interested in new supplements for life enhancement.

Remember you are taking the supplements to the mid brain, with Kriya practice, where they do the most good.

INNER BREATHING

There are some very advanced techniques in Kriya yoga. A couple I like to discuss here. They are only advanced in as much as it is essential to feel the centers and feel the movement of the conductivity in the body that's the primary basic practice of Kriya Yoga.

Inner breathing is a very deep internal movement in the body in the Taoist tradition is called bone breathing this is because your core essential nature is pulsating. This is prior than the function of the lungs but a deep inner movement.

One way of accessing this would be to do the bellows, followed by doing a Kriya on the last inhaled breathe.
Open the chest as you breathe in with a short than long double breath. Use a double breath so it fills the lower and upper cavity of the lungs and then exhale much in the same way is pushed out rapidly like a bellows. You can do several of these as many as you can handle. But be careful I've seen people come right off the ground and levitate while doing this. I myself when I first did it was thrown completely across the room. So go with care as in all yoga.

So one would do the bellows until you feel a fullness, where there's no need to breath, usually on the inhaled breath. It is then held. As in the conductivity you turn the tongue to the upper palate. Then roll the tongue back and tightens the anal sphincter muscles or the yoni and comfortably holds the breath. This is then held and your lower center is felt.. Then let the energy rise up using the three pumps. The lower abdomen then through the heart and then pushed up using the jade pillow or muscles in the back of the neck by the Medulla into the midbrain. This is a very powerful exercise. The more you practice Kriya yoga you will learn how to draw this energy up and down in the body with or without the breath this deep or inner breathing. This practice takes you to unimaginable openings.

As I mentioned earlier I have practiced Kriya yoga for over 45 years it is a never ending process of continuous opening. If there is any form of evolution it certainly is not the being but the nervous system does involve. We become more sensitive and aware of our surroundings as I had mentioned. The various Sidhis or powers that sometimes arise as a result of these practices ultimately are simply a joyful expression of self realization.

My art was a way to convey the ecstasy and experiences with psychedelic Kriya Yoga. My initial discovery of Kriya Yoga occurred under LSD. I have had initiations in this Sovereign Science by Masters through out the east. In India, Indonesia, and Burma. Forms of Kriya Yoga are known in all ancient cultures. I am forever grateful and deeply respectful to all the teachers I have met. In a forthcoming blog I will share some of these encounters. I have practiced steadfastly for over 45 years with and without plant medicine. The real initiation happens as you do the practice. Kriya Yoga is the real inner teacher. It is a love affair with the Divine."

In Modern India there are Naga Baba sects devoted to the use of psychedelics, Ganja and Bhang. Along with yoga practices. One of the most renowned Babas was Ganesh Baba Swami Ganeshananda Gir.

In the early part of his life he was a successful and wealthy businessman. Some time after 1945 he retired from worldly life and took sanyas vows, becoming a monk in the tradition of the Naga Babas, more exactly, in the Anandakara branch of the movement founded by Shankaracharya. He received spiritual teachings from several sources, but his main spiritual practice was Kriya Yoga.

Ganesh Baba stated that he received the four Kriya Yoga initiations from Lahiri Mahasaya (at the age of four, when he was brought to Lahiri Mahasay on the verge of death from cholera), He became well-known to young Westerners visiting India in the 1960s. In the late 1970s he lived at Swayambunath (near Kathmandu) where he received many visitors and gave courses in Kriya Yoga practice.

Everyone who met him were impressed and he was held in high esteem by both Indians and Westerners. He was talkative and would spend hours regaling his listeners with what some might call 'tall tales'.

In the 70’s Ganesh Baba met Timothy Leary in Nepal and shortly after came to NYC. was true to form psychedelic Kriya yogi. He used all forms of psychedelics of the time, and was particularly fond of LSD. He was known to take outrageous amounts of mushrooms, ganja and Acid and remain present and joyful. His statement “once a psychedelic always a psychedelic” says it all. Once you have tasted the bliss and ecstasy of the psychedelic experience you are never the same. He advocated being perfectly present and a straight spine to conduct the pranic life force. He looked like Mr. Natural, a comic strip character of the 60’s. A joyful and cherubic Santa Clause.

Inspite of his ganja smoking demeanor he was a strict disciplinarian. And demanded full and perfect attention no matter how stoned your where. He also advocated the use of psychedelics only for spiritual work. And he was an ecstatic trance dancer.

Teachings of Ganesh Baba including the conscious control of prana and breath, and how to expand the consciousness and connect with universal energy.

“This is a holy plant for the Sadhus, it can give you a glimpse of the divine at work. The Kriya-technique utilizes the eye piece provided at the pineal plexus within the human cerebrum, along the cerebral-spinal channel. The individual ego-consciousness expands the Cosmic Action (Kriya) to embrace the total context of consciousness in the entire cosmos around us-the highest attainable level of consciousness which the most perfected human being can ever attain. The realization of Universal Unity results in a harmonious rapport being established between the individual and the Universal. A sense of belonging, a sense of affinity among All in the Universe wells up in the self-realized soul making for peace, happiness, bliss and beatitude.”

Ganesh Baba's teachings incorporated Western scientific concepts. He taught that there is a cyclic cosmic process of involution and evolution, and he developed a system of correspondences - a "Cycle of Synthesis" - between levels of Kriya Yoga practice, the five koshas, the planets, the kayas, the Yugas, the Chakras, the stages of organic evolution and the Jungian psychological types. He left three manuscripts and many volumes of short essays and papers. The longer manuscripts, "Search of Self," an unfinished autobiography, "Sadhana," a kriya yoga manual, and a detailed essay on his Cycle of Synthesis, are synthesized and updated as The Crazy Wisdom of Ganesh Baba, by Eve Neuhaus (2010).

In 1979 he had developed eye cataracts and was going blind. His Western followers arranged for him to visit the U.S.A. for an operation, as a result of which he recovered his sight. Since many of the young Westerners who had met him in India and Nepal were glad to have him in the U.S. he remained there for seven years, teaching Kriya Yoga to small groups on the East Coast and West Coast. He returned to India in 1986. He visited a Kriya Yoga center in France (which was established by his French followers), then went back to India. He died at Nainital on 19 November 1987, and is buried at the Alakha Nath Temple in Bareilly.

USE AND ABUSE

To lump all drugs together is unfortunate. There are good drugs or plant medicines or bad drugs which deplete and destroy the body. There are empathogens like MDMA that are useful in the psychiatric communities. New research on mushrooms shows a beneficial prolonged change in consciousness. Much more research is needed.

Bur it is easy to abuse drugs, and therefore it makes it a dangerous path that can lead to self-abuse. When you get high your boundaries collapse and your sense of judgment. I consider psychedelic drugs in a separate category they are sacraments and they should be treated as such in ancient cultures they were used for spiritual purposes only. Today they're very prevalent on the party scene and indiscriminate use. Overuse tends to stretch the body’s’ ability to heal. To larger dose can cause imbalance in the dopamine or serotonin pathways and recovery time is necessary.

Ganesh Baba had his students only use plant medicines and marijuana for spiritual purpose and practice. I agree with this. Ideally one could be able to use less and less of the medicine and have a greater and greater response as you master the conductivity of the breath and the ability to bring sacred substances to the mid brain where it has its most advantageous use. Your body mind remembers these open ecstatic states. When doing practice, you reactivate the experience and open. Eventually homeopathic doses or none at all to achieve the same result.

A brief description of yoga and the sheaths or bodies of our Being.

According to yoga, the human being is composed of several concentric bodies, or sheaths of energy consciousness, from gross to subtle levels.

1. The physical body: the material, visible part of the human being, including the body consciousness at the cellular level which acts without any mental will of our own or even against that will; it has emerged from the Inconscient, the inverse reproduction of the Supreme Superconscient.

2. The vital body: the life nature made up of desires, sensations, feelings, passions, energies of action, will of desire, possessive and other related instincts, anger, fear, greed, lust, sorrow, joy, hatred, repulsion, pride, small likings and disliking’s, etc.

3. The mental body (manas): sense mind; that part which has to do with cognition, perception through the senses, the reactions of thoughts to things, the putting out of mental forces for realization of an idea; the expression of ideas as through speech.

4. The intellectual body (buddhi): reasoning mind; that which analyzes, synthesizes and constructs ideas from signs, indications and gathered data; mind is a subordinate power of Supermind which takes its stand in the standpoint of division, actually forgetful here of the oneness behind, though able to return to it by reillumination from the Supramental (Truth Consciousness).

5. The spiritual body: the eternal true being or Self of the individual; the spiritual consciousness is that in which we enter into the awareness of self, the Spirit, the Divine

In ordinary life, the current of life moves down and through the body. The body decays and falls into the ground and becomes dust. In Kriya yoga, we reverse that process by literally raising the body into the light energizing the cells and acquiring awareness of the energy body. This process is only for a few that are moved to meditate and practice in this way.

THE PRACTICE

The practice becomes a way of life, once the search for enlightenment collapses.

A visual example of the inner movement. The centers open and Self awareness occurs spontaneously.

THE PRACTICE

I would like to at this time draw attention to the three pumps in the body and how they can facilitate the energy moving into higher centers in the brain. A side note, the brain controls many of the processes in the body such as growth, and of emotions. It is capable of the experience of Bliss... Therefore it makes sense that when blood and spinal fluid with nutrients are pumped into the brain for assimilation. Great benefits can be derived. In the practice, pressure is put on some of the ductless glands. The pineal and pituitary which control growth and subtle experience. The third eye. That being said, let's look a little closer at the three pumps.

First of all in the practice air enters the body through the mouth. But literally by the focus of our attention we feel the energy entering through the pineal gland or third eye. The energy moving down into the lower navel area. Holding the breath filling the lower abdominal region thus putting pressure on the sexual organs. This is where the first pump comes into play. The Anal sphincter muscles tighten and hold lifting up gently. For women a slight pressure on the clitoris with the folded palms. The tongue is turned back upon itself and raised at the soft palate. This locks the energy into the body and should be completely comfortable as you become an adept in the practice. The pressure is slightly felt to push down upon the sexual center or for men the prostate gland. This can induce a feeling of pleasure and heat. This feeling is felt to draw up as the air is exhaled gently. It is felt to rise up the back of the spine.

The inhalation sound is a slight houwlllll as the air is inhaled. Then houwww as exhaled. The first pump comes into play in lifting up of the anal sphincter muscles. This feels as if energy is been being lifted into the navel area. The solar plexus moves the energy in a lifting fashion. It is felt to move up into the heart central area of the body where it can be felt as a feeling of warmth, emotion and well-being an expanded sense of self. That's the second pump in the heart center (you can feel this subtle lift when you naturally breathe in your chest rises.) in the exhale you feel a slight tension in the back as the energy is consciously drawn upward. It is important as not to stress yourself in this movement. It's as natural as breathing in and breathing out. Then comes the third pump, right behind the neck muscles which hold the cranium and the medulla in place. In Taoism this is called the jade pillow.

These muscles are lifted, while the tongue is simultaneously pressed on the hard ridge inside of the mouth. This is said to be a pressure point that activates the pineal gland the third eye. This push pushes blood and spinal fluid up into the brain. During climax, ecstasy or joy these muscles move upward automatically. The first area felt is the medulla oblongata. This is the old brain and contains the pleasure centers and activates full brain rapture. Known as the Bliss sheath in yogic lore. A slight pressure is then felt in the pituitary center. This literally milks the gland so that it secretes various hormones that are beneficial to the body. Hence Kriya yoga has been use since early time for physical regeneration.

Yogis would use his practice to prolong life, so they could do austerities and tapas (spiritual disciplines,). The body is a vehicle that can be used to perceive all dimensions. We are multi dimensional. Many of these dimensions are perceived in yogic ways and in silence. Kriya yoga facilitates that process.

The best practice to be free and silence your mind forever whether it is moving or not is simple. DON’T BELIEVE YOUR THOUGHTS. They will come and go and I might ad as you move on this incredible journey don’t believe any experience as well.

You are an Amazing Being !

THE HISTORY AND SOVEREIGN SCIENCE OF KRIYA YOGA

INTRODUCTION

The use of psychedelic drugs has been demonized in this culture whereby a scientific exploration of the medicinal and psychological benefits derive from using psychedelics in a controlled situation has alluded the scientific community. Lately there've been a few case studies of LSD, Psilocybin and MDMA hopefully will come to a time where the true benefits of these substances will be made available without criminal consequences.

I discovered powerful Kriya yoga practices while under the influence of LSD in the early 60s. This encouraged me to seek other ways and means to acquire or these states of openness and ecstasy. I spent years studying yoga with kundalini masters. I found that the very same states that would occur with powerful psychoactive substances could also be experienced through the breath. I revisited entheogens in the 90s when ecstasy became popular. I found that taking ecstasy; I could relax and be aware in a particular way of my central nervous system. It was extremely beneficial to learn how to conduct the breath with the pranic energy. I find the use moderate use of plant medicine intensifies the Kriya practice. Our body mind remembers these states. After all they are what are within us. Plant Medicine only can act as a catalyst to what is already there. We have DMT, Dopamine and serotonin that are produced in our bodies. The Kriya practice is one that enables us to activate these neuron transmitters.

Now I don’t use the powerful elixirs but have found I can attain the same states with out the use of drugs. Sometimes a very homeopathic dose is useful.

I love the opening of the heart, which Kriya yoga has exemplified in my life. The search for enlightenment or special states of consciousness is a distraction from the practice itself. You miss being in the moment and are fixated on some future event. or attainment.

In seeing the futility of the search for enlightenment and coming to know myself and accept myself in all ways, I still maintain this practice out of love of the Divine. Kriya Yoga is an ancient science that activates higher qualities of mind and being.

To do a practice without seeking any attainment from it. Is a challenge. But it is very simple. It is just for the love of doing the practice itself.

As a yogi I learned to play this body instrument diving deeply into the depths of the human condition to heights of the God light.

If this book can be of assistance to others who are on the path of yoga and psychedelics I would be over joyed. It is my love for the sovereign science and art of Kriya Yoga that has prompted me to write this book.

1. The History Theory and Science of Kriya Yoga

The history of Kriya yoga is as old as the history of man. When I was an oriental art dealer. I found in ancient shamanic art of the far eastern cultures statuary that depicted deep psychedelic states or Kriya yoga. Practice. More then likely using both plant medicine and Kriya Yoga. You can recognize the facial expressions a grimace or ecstasy maybe a mixture of both. On the tantric Buddhist deities you see the tong curled up and pressed on the upper palate, which is part of the practice. The wild eyes of the wisdom beholding ditties are very similar to the opening of the pupil in deep psychedelic trance.

Recently while at an art exhibit of Toltec an Olmec cultures I saw the same expressions. I have found references to the body of light in all of the religions. The exact process or practice in its earliest forms has been recorded in India in Tamil Nadu. They have a history of enlightened beings called Siddhas. Their history borders on myth and imagination. They are said to have come from the gods and are from different stellar systems. They are known in all ancient cultures as Gods. Whether the culture is Egyptian, Greek, Zoroastrians or native cultures. They appear in the very psyche of man.

The Tamil Nadu Siddhas have a historical legacy that was recorded on palm leaves. These ancient scripts are in a library in Tamil Nadu India and are still being translated. They brought science, medicine, yoga and alchemy to teach the transformation of body being into a being of light.

The history of the Siddha tradition begins millions of years ago with the story of Lord Shiva's initiation of his consort or Shakti, Parvati Devi, into Kriya Kundalini Pranayama (the scientific art of mastering the breath) in a huge cave at Amarnath in the Kashmir Himalayas (Ramaiah, 1968, p. 108). Later Yogi Shiva initiated others, including the Siddha Agastyar and the Siddhas Nandi Devar and Thirumoolar on Mount Kailas in Tibet. Agastyar subsequently initiated Babaji. Who taught Kriya yoga to lay men through Lahiri Mahsai in the 19th century.

The attainment of the 18 Siddhas and Babaji has been the result of the grace of God and the Kriyas or techniques used by them to prepare their lower bodies for the descent of the Divinity. Collectively, the techniques are known as "Kriya Yoga Siddhantham", which means, the practical yoga techniques bringing about final perfection in the realization of God or Truth. The use of “Medicine” for spiritual and emotional unfolding is stated in poems and the plant medicines used are unknown at this time. Alchemical transformation was kept secret in ancient cultures. Two types of medicine which refer to very powerful psychedelics are Soma and Kriya Kalpa treatment.

We have drunk the Soma; we have become immortal; we have gone to the light; we have found the gods. What can hatred and the malice of a mortal do to us now, O immortal one?

- Rig Veda (c.1000 BC)

The soma plant, the process of manufacturing its juice and the drinking of it, are the recurring themes of the 9th Mandala of the Rig Veda. Because of its association with higher consciousness and the inability of spiritual seekers and health researchers to locate its habitat, scholars have speculated that soma is actually everything from a hallucinogen found in a genus of mushroom to a form of water reed or even a type of honey. That is likely because the verses in the 9th Mandala poetically describe it in such as way as to make it appear in many forms. But perhaps this is simply because the Tamil Siddhas often couched their formulas in obscure and poetic language, opening a wide door to interpretation by subsequent translators.

Medicine is that which treats the disorders of the physical body;
Medicine is that which treats the disorders of the mind,
Medicine is that which prevents illness;
Medicine is that which enables immortality.

How advanced was the Siddhas' conception of medicine when compared to that of "modern" medicine, which only in this century has included mental illness within its scope of treatment, and has not yet begun to conceive of physical immortality.

In developing and experimenting with the yogic Kriyas (techniques) the Siddhas acquired much knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, as well as in the fields of medicine and the processes of rejuvenation.

The Siddha System of Medicine, or "Siddha Vaidya"

In the Siddha system, Chemistry was developed as a science auxiliary to Medicine and Alchemy. It was found useful in the preparation of medicines for curing all sorts of sufferings, spiritual as well as corporeal and also in transmutation of baser metals into gold. The transformation into gold symbolically relates to the energy body in man.

The knowledge of plants and minerals was of a very high order. The processes like calcification of mercury, minerals and metals and the preparation of a super salt known as "muppu", the description of mupu sounds like it had a high mineral amino-acid base, and more than likely stimulated the growth hormone. They utilized animated Mercury pills with high potency possessing marvelous properties of transmuting metals and capable of rejuvenating the entire human system were unknown to other medical systems of India or other countries. Using such special salts as well as herbal formulae the Siddhas developed the unique science of rejuvenation, known as "kaya kalpa", which allowed them to prolong their lives until the long term effects of Kriya Kundalini Pranayama and similar yogic practices could complete the process of transformation, bringing about physical immortality. The emphasis was to crystallize in our consciousness our body ... being as pure energy. The very cells of the body would glow.

"Oh God! The Eternal Love, just to bestow upon me the golden body, you, the Universal Love have merged with my heart. Allowing Yourself to be infused in me, Oh Supreme Love. You with the Light of Grace have alchemized my body." - Canto 6, chapter 1, verse 480.

Most tribal societies living in nature used psychoactive substances as part of their spiritual practice or to contact the Gods... The use of psychoactive drugs has been with men since the dawn of creation. How can we apply the ancient practices and the modern drugs and supplements to enhance our vitality and open ourselves to the Body of Light?
