From the creators of You Can Heal Your Life : The Movie comes a compelling portrait of three modern lives in need of new direction and new meaning, Dr. Wayne Dyer's The Shift Movie , yet another brilliant one.

In his first-ever movie (written by Kristen Lazarian and directed by Michael Goorjian), Wayne Dyer explores the spiritual journey in the second half of life when we long to find the purpose that is our unique contribution to the world.

The powerful shift from the ego constructs we are taught early in life by parents and society—which promote an emphasis on achievement and accumulation—are shown in contrast to a life of meaning, focused on serving and giving back.

Filmed on coastal California’s spectacular Monterey Peninsula, The Shift captures every person’s mid-life longing for a more purposeful, soul-directed life.

The Shift explores the intertwined lives of an overachieving businessman (played by Edward Kerr), a mother of two young children seeking her own expression in the world (Shannon Sturges), and a film director trying to make a name for himself (Michael DeLuise). Also starring Portia de Rossi. The Shift not only inspires, but also teaches us how to find the path to our spiritual purpose and therefore our greatest joy. “I am 68 years old and I have a new career,” Dyer explained. “When I was asked to do this film, I didn’t think ‘I’m too old to do something I’ve never done before.’ I thought ‘I am open to everything. I am willing to change and to learn.’ I’m more proud of this film than of anything I’ve ever done before.” Wayne Dyer appears in the film as himself. Special appearance by Louise L. Hay.

There’s only one way to conclude Hay House’s year-long 20th Anniversary celebration as the international leader in inspirational and self-help publishing—with a big bang! For the grand finale of our commemorative year, Hay House is proud to announce the debut of the first-ever film on the life and work of our much-loved founder, Louise L. Hay — You Can Heal Your Life : The Movie !

“I’ve become so delighted with this project,” Louise said about her film debut. “I’ve noticed that women in the film industry who are 35 are usually too old to get a part. But I’m 80 and I’m doing my first movie . . . and I’m the star. It’s very, very exciting.”

There are few people we meet in our lifetime whose presence and effervescent spirit fills us instantly with an abundance of energy and love. Louise Hay is one of those rare people who radiates peace and seems to make time stand still. And when the prospect of a movie about her life and her work came to fruition, the unanimous response from all who have been touched by Louise’s caring nature and generous desire to help others was—“It’s about time!”

It all started more than 30 years ago when Louise saw how people let illness and hurtful circumstances control their lives. She vowed to help them see that the root of their pain stemmed from their own negative thoughts. So, she sat down and wrote a little blue pamphlet where she described how our mental patterns and beliefs can actually contribute to illness in our body. She even listed various medical conditions, explained what thoughts correlated with them, and showed us that the way to heal our lives was just a positive thought away.

Louise had a simple message that she wanted to share: “The body, like everything else in life, is a mirror of our inner thoughts and beliefs. Every cell within your body responds to every single thought you think and every word you speak.”

Little did she know that this tiny blue book, which she incorporated into her second book You Can Heal Your Life would change the world and its way of thinking. You Can Heal Your Life, published in 1984, has been translated into 29 different languages, is available in more than 35 countries, and to date has sold more than 35 million copies around the world.

In the later decades of her life, Louise has touched hundreds of thousands of lives with her groundbreaking wisdom and her generous heart. Now, you can see this firsthand in You Can Heal Your Life: The Movie, which presents some of the most fascinating and memorable moments of Louise’s life.

In this film, you learn about Louise’s early days and the events that lead her to where she is today. You see, through personal interviews, how Louise teaches us to look within and heal ourselves. And you glimpse back to the time when Louise launched her successful book publishing company from a small bedroom in her home when she self-published her “little blue book.”

You also discover many things that you may not know about Louise—how she opened doors for women in the publishing business and the inspirational speaking circuit and how she broke barriers by reaching out to the men and women afflicted with AIDS during a time when much of the world left them behind.

You meet the woman who wakes up every day and proclaims her love for everyone and everything in her path, the woman who popularized “affirmations,” the woman who shakes hands with presidents, dignitaries, celebrities, and who always has an affectionate hug for fans who run up to her at a public appearance or Hay House event to thank her for “saving my life.” And when she embraces them, she’ll insist, “It wasn’t me. It was you.”

The best way to learn about Louise and the impact of her work is to listen to others describe the many ways she has helped shape their lives. “Louise has been a profoundly positive influence in my life, and she is one of my greatest teachers,” notes longtime Hay House author Doreen Virtue. “Louise is one of the most powerful persons I have ever met, and I am truly blessed to have spent time with her. I’m so pleased that this movie will allow you the joy of spending time with Louise, too.”

Best-selling author Gregg Braden adds, “I was working as a defense systems computer engineer during the last years of the Cold War when I first read Louise’s book, You Can Heal Your Life. It came to me at a turning point in my life and I found it so beautiful, so powerful, and so true. Through the simple elegance that’s the hallmark of her work, Louise put words to my view of a life philosophy that includes compassionate self-healing. Now, 20 years later, I’m not only honored to be part of the Hay House family, but I’m blessed to know the woman who gives so much in the world, and who touched my life during such a pivotal time in such a special way.”

A number of luminaries in the fields of self-help and health and spirituality and new thought—including Doreen Virtue, Gregg Braden, Wayne W. Dyer, Gay Hendricks, Esther and Jerry Hicks, Leon Nacson, Dr. Christiane Northrup, Dr. Candace B. Pert, Cheryl Richardson, Dr. Mona Lisa Schulz, and many others share their personal stories about Louise’s impact on their lives in You Can Heal Your Life: The Movie.

“It’s an honor to be part of a film that celebrates the work of an amazing woman who has done so much for so many,” says best-selling author and renowned life coach Cheryl Richardson. “Louise is a bright light whose wisdom started me on my journey of awakening. It’s exciting to think that even more people will be blessed with her message of hope and strength.”
