A Scanner Darkly : A Rotoscopic Animated Movie

A Scanner Darkly,

Directed by Richard Linklater based on the novel of the same name by Philip K. Dick.

The film tells the story of identity and deception in a near-future dystopia constantly monitored by intensive high-technology police surveillance in the midst of a drug addiction epidemic involving a 'Substance D'. To give the film its distinct look, the movie was filmed digitally and then animated using interpolated rotoscope over the original footage like Linklater's earlier master piece 'Waking Life' ...

In the future, America has lost the war on drugs and a highly addictive illegal drug called Substance D, made from a small blue flower, has swept across the country. In response, the government develops an invasive, high-tech surveillance system and puts in place a network of informants and undercover agents. Bob Arctor (Reeves) is an undercover agent assigned to immerse himself in the drug underworld and infiltrate the drug supply chain. While posing as a drug user, Arctor becomes addicted to Substance D, a powerful psychoactive drug which causes a dreamy state of intoxication and bizarre hallucinations; chronic users may develop symptoms of Schizophrenia, cognitive problems, and severe paranoia.

A Scanner Darkly has some suggestive Illuminati symbolism ... The 'All Seeing Eye' on Robert Downey Jr's T Shirt, the pyramid, the hammer, the illuminati handshake ... Alex Jones, Masonic symbology and Mr. Downey mentioning Shape Shifting Lizards ... Here watch the video ....
