"He made the whole world an instrument of sound, and an instrument for carrying messages, resounding praise to the Creator of all.
- Frank Waters - The Book of the Hopi

Sound

There is something called the Sacred Sound Current which correlates to the spiritual Hindu "OM" and the Sufi "HU", and the Sant Mat "Shabd". This Music of the Spheres, Logos or Word as called in mystical teachings, goes beyond our limited spoken language. Such ethereal music is referred to also as the Sound of God or the Breath of God since the sound permeates all things. And as we know, all things are composed of energy.

This all pervading sound in the current of the Ocean of Consciousness is believed to be the connecting link between God and man. The divine currents are always playing a symphony of ethereal music, however, it does not become audible until we have progressed spiritually enough to hear with the inner ear. Additionally, many mystics, ancient and modern, have reported seeing various colors with the inner eye(s) while in meditation.

As physics deems, all is in a vibrational state, and thus can be converted into mathematical renditions, musical notes and color frequencies. Shabd is believed to be the pinnacle point of all the powers of nature in which, according to scriptures, is the method in which God creates.

"I dwell in undefiled Light and a Thought revealed itself perceptibly through the great Sound...And it is a Word by virtue of the Sound; it was sent to illumine those who dwell in darkness...I am a Light that illuminates the All. I am the Light..."
- Trimorphic Protennoia - Nag Hammadi

Light and Sound is also viewed as synonymous with each other in the ancient scriptures. This has been mentioned in various contexts within this site as well. They are Interconnected and part of the Whole within the wave/particle duality.

We can parallel the holographic universe concept with what Philo of Alexandria's wrote circa 40 CE, "The whole creation, this entire world perceived by our senses is a copy of the Divine Image...But the shadow of God is his Word which he used like an instrument when he was making the world. And this shadow, and, as it were, model, is the archetype of other things.." We can also note the similarity to Carl Jung's archetypes within the collective unconscious.

"The musician is very close to mysticism, far closer than the philosopher...because music is meaningful without any words; it is meaningful simply because it rings some bells in your heart..creates a synchronicity between you and itself, when your heart starts resonating in the same way, when you start pulsating in the same way."
- Osho, Philosophia Ultima

Synchronicity

Carl Jung made significant progress in his theories of the soul and shamanism, on many levels. This psychologist's work on the deep aspects of the soul dawned a new age for scientific and religious thinkers. Carl Jung's depth in understanding the self and realms therein parallels the knowledge and characteristics of shamanism.

With this understanding, Carl Jung felt that no causal connection can be demonstrated between two events, but a meaningful relationship nevertheless exists between them. This direct encounter with the patterning of events in nature as a whole reveals the meaningful connections between the subjective and objective world. Jung called this principle of meaningful coincidences: "synchronicity".

Jung describes in his research into the collective unconscious that coincidences were connected in meaningful ways. Their occurrence seemed to defy the calculations of probability. Because Jung believed the phenomenon of synchronicity was connected to psychic conditions, he felt the inner and outer realities (subjective and objective) evolved through the archetypes. Jung formulated that these archetypal images belonged to a part of the unconscious not derived from personal experience. The archetypal images forms the "collective unconscious". This collective is all things working in tandem indicating 'singleness of purpose', in this case, our very totality of consciousness vibrating and working as one coherent mass of energy.

We can also see archetypal images or symbols as energetic structures that create a bridge between us and the higher realities. In some unintelligible way, they connect us with the spiritual realms and the divine order that unites us all. Archetypes thus become a doorway that provides access to the experience of meaningful coincidence.

Jung's concept of synchronicity speaks of the "oneness" and interdependence of the universe. Jung states, "peculiar interdependence of objective elements among themselves as well as with the subjective (psychic) states of the observer or observers". Jung was also heavily influenced by the "new" physics dawning which he wrote, "Physics has demonstrated...that in the realm of atomic magnitudes objective reality presupposes an observer, and that only on this condition is a satisfactory scheme of explanation possible...This means that a subjective element attaches to the physicist's world picture, and secondly that a connection necessarily exists between the psyche to be explained and the objective space-time continuum."

These discoveries confirmed what Jung recognized intuitively: that matter and consciousness are, in fact, interconnected in an essential way. Quantum theory and synchronous events along with matter and consciousness function as complementary aspects of a unified total reality.

In an essay by Gerhard Adler titled "Reflections on "Chance" and "Fate" - "This interconnectedness manifests itself in so many ways that one has to accept it as undisputable reality."

Arthur Koestler, a twentieth century philosopher, refers to the capacity of the human psyche to "act as a cosmic resonator" and in his book, "The Roots of Coincidence", presumes the "fundamental unity of all things," which transcends mechanical causality, and which relates coincidence to the "universal scheme of things."

Koestler also refers to "the universal hanging-together of things, their embeddedness in a universal matrix." Many ecologists and scientists know without a doubt, this sense of interrelation in and of the world.

The mystical concepts of one universal scheme parallels the scientific theme of oneness. The relevancy of science and consciousness is immense.

"Call it Nature, Fate, Fortune; all these are names of the one and selfsame God."
- Lucius Annaeus Seneca 5 BC-65 AD

Shamanism

"I see science and mysticism as two complementary manifestations of the human mind; of its rational and intuitive faculties."
Fritjof Capra - Tao of Physics.

"Shamanism" is basically the practice of contacting the "spirit world" and doing work on the dimensional and/or on a soul level. This could encompass many methods and modes of doing such. Shamans/Healers have been the corner stone of many spiritual traditions throughout the world. The roots of these ancient Healers and Priests regarded the soul and consciousness as a part of the whole cosmos. The shamanistic concept of "journeying" could be explained by as traveling through space and time dimensions to heal the soul and the person or many various other reasons depending on the culture of that healer. For many healer/shamans multidimensional traveling is a way of life. There is no distinct separation.

Science has also come to explain how "magic" of the shamans operates to some degree. A scandalous trial in London in 1877, grabbed the attention of many notable physicists. Henry Slade, a psychic from the United States, was charged with fraudulent activity. What marked this normally mundane trial of trickery is that physicists and astronomers around the world, some who won the Nobel Prize in physics, came to Slade's defense. These scientists claimed "miraculous feats" could be done by manipulating objects in the 4th dimension.

This other worldly ability is something shamans have been to known to do, either alter something in the physical or manifest something from "thin air". Physicists are coming close to explaining the science of the shaman.

Eventually, Henry Slade was convicted despite the help he received.

The well known tenet in shamanism is the "axis mundi", the transcendental center of the worlds, designates "parallel world realities within a single universe", coexisting on each side of the "axis mundi" the axis by which our world is brought into communication with the upper and lower worlds.

In "The Nature of Shamanism" it states, "Uniformities of forms do appear to exist in our empirical universe which transgress the quanta of the human mind...falling into the domain of the Jungian 'collective unconsciousness'".

"By invoking modern physics, we can say, together with many a shaman, that all reality is only a continuum of the same spectrum. Put otherwise, reality is always in a state of Being or Existing."

"Magic is any sufficiently advanced technology."
Arthur C. Clarke

'Aum Namah Shivaya' the foremost mantra in Shaivism which literally translates 'Adoration To Shiva' or 'I Bow To Shiva'. Shaivite mystics hold that within its celestial tones and hues resides all of the intuitive knowledge of Shaivism. Shiva means 'Good' or 'The Auspicious One' among the uncountable other names and meanings it has ....

AUM : The three parts of Om (A-U-M) encompass the three states of waking, dreaming, deep sleep, the three levels of gross, subtle, causal and the three levels of conscious, unconscious, subconscious, as well as the three universal processes of coming, being and going. Absolute silence beyond the three levels is the silence after AUM. It also refers to Tripura, the one who live in the "three cities" as in Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, as well as the light referred to in Gayatri Mantra.

Namah : Adoration, homage, respect. Nothing is mine (as an individual person); everything is thine (as the Absolute Reality). The three levels of Om, the three worlds of gross, subtle, and causal, along with the three states of waking, dreaming and deep sleep states of consciousness, as well as the three levels of conscious, unconscious and subconscious themselves are "not mine" as the true properties of who I really am. Truly, "nothing is mine." Rather, everything, all of these triads is "thine" or the "other" as the Absolute Reality.

Shivaya : That Absolute Reality that is the ground out of which everything emerges. It is that "ink," so to speak, that is not separate from the many forms which may appear to manifest or be created from that ink. In the Realization of this, one comes to see that he or she is one and the same with the Absolute Reality. The Mahavakyas, the great utterances are seen to be true. Shiva (the static or ground) and Shakti (the active or creative) are seen to be one and the same. She (Shakti), while one with Shiva is realized in direct experience as the one in the three worlds (Tripura) outlined in Om.

'Namah Shivaya' also known as the Panchakshara Mantra ( 5 Syllable Mantra ) represents the 5 elements of Earth, Water, Fire, Air & Space {Ether} ! Thus, the Om Namah Shivaya mantra also leads awareness in the reverse order, from manifestation back to the source from which manifestation arises.

"Shivo Bhokta, Shiva Bhojya
Shivo Karta, Shivah Karma
Shivah Karanatmakah"

Shiva is the experiencer and the highest object of experience. Shiva is the goal of Sadhana. There is nothing apart from Shiva. There is nothing other than Shiva. Whatever there is, is Shiva. There is nothing, which is not Shiva. There is no place, which is not Shiva. There is no time, which is not Shiva. To be aware of this is to be aware of Shiva.

"It's clearly a crisis of two things: of consciousness and conditioning. These are the two things that the psychedelics attack. We have the technological power, the engineering skills to save our planet, to cure disease, to feed the hungry, to end war; But we lack the intellectual vision, the ability to change our minds. We must de-condition ourselves from 10,000 years of bad behavior. And, it's not easy."

—Terence McKenna, "This World... and Its Double"

Terence McKenna is one of the pioneers in the research of plant entheogens and the mystical connections with consciousness which arise out of a psychedelic initiation ... the experience can then, well become repeatable with purposeful ingestion of a psychedelic sacrament to attain altered states of consciousness which the ancients have known since the time before our known recorded history originates ! A writer, philosopher, ethnobotanist, psychonaut, a new age shaman among the many titles McKenna earned as he set adrift on his psychedelic adventures this time around ... Terence McKenna and his eloquence on the matters of Extraterrestrials, UFOs and Psychedelics has enthralled and invoked millions all around this big blue planet, Terra ! ~(:-)~

Terence McKenna grew up in Paonia, Colorado. He was introduced to geology through his uncle and developed a hobby of solitary fossil hunting in the arroyos near his home. From this he developed a deep artistic and scientific appreciation of nature. At age 16, McKenna moved to, and attended high school in, Los Altos, California. He lived with family friends because his parents in Colorado wished him to have the benefit of highly rated California public schools. He was introduced to psychedelics through The Doors of Perception by Aldous Huxley and the Village Voice.

In 1975, Terence graduated from Berkeley with a degree in ecology, resource conservation, and shamanism. Soon thereafter, he and Dennis published one of the earliest psilocybin mushroom growing guides under the pseudonames Oss and Oeric. Terence then spent some time doing large-scale farming of psilocybin mushrooms during the 1980s. Soon, McKenna began to speak publicly on the topic of psychedelic drugs, lecturing extensively and conducting weekend workshops. Though somewhat associated with the New Age or human potential movement, McKenna himself had little patience for New Age sensibilities, repeatedly stressing the importance of the primacy of felt experience as opposed to dogmatic ideologies. Timothy Leary once introduced him as "one of the five or six most important people on the planet".

He soon became a fixture of popular counterculture, and his popularity continued to grow, culminating in the early to mid 1990's with the publication of several books such as True Hallucinations (which relates the tale of his 1971 experience at La Chorrera), Food of the Gods and The Archaic Revival. He became a popular personality in the psychedelic rave/dance scene of the early 1990s, with frequent spoken word performances at raves and contributions to psychedelic and goa trance albums by The Shamen, Spacetime Continuum, Alien Project, Capsula, Entheogenic, Zuvuya, Shpongle, and Shakti Twins. His speeches were (and continue to be) sampled by many others such as Raja Ram, 1200 mics .... In 1994 he appeared as a speaker at the Starwood Festival, which was documented in the book Tripping by Charles Hayes (his lectures were produced on both cassette tape and CD).

Novelty Theory

One of McKenna's ideas is known as novelty theory. It predicts the ebb and flow of novelty in the universe as an inherent quality of time. McKenna developed the theory in the mid-1970s after his experiences in the Amazon at La Chorrera led him to closely study the King Wen sequence of the I-Ching. Novelty theory involves ontology, extropy, and eschatology.

The theory proposes that the universe is an engine designed for the production and conservation of novelty. Novelty, in this context, can be thought of as newness, or extropy (a term coined by Max More meaning the opposite of entropy). According to McKenna, when novelty is graphed over time, a fractal waveform known as "timewave zero" or simply the "timewave" results. The graph shows at what time periods, but never at what locations, novelty increases or decreases.

Considered by some to represent a model of history's most important events, the universal algorithm has also been extrapolated to be a model for future events. McKenna admitted to the expectation of a "singularity of novelty", and that he and his colleagues projected many hundreds of years into the future to find when this singularity (runaway "newness" or extropy) could occur. Millenarians give more credence to Novelty theory as a way to predict the future (especially regarding 2012) than McKenna himself. The graph of extropy had many enormous fluctuations over the last 25,000 years, but it hit an asymptote at exactly December 21, 2012. In other words, entropy (or habituation) no longer exists after that date. It is impossible to define that state. This is also the exact date on which the Mayan long calendar ends. It is believed by many that this day will bring great change to the planet Earth.

Terence McKenna left the physical form in the early hours on April 3rd 2000 at his home in Hawaii alongside his loved ones succumbing to brain cancer !

Commenting on the reality of his own death, McKenna said during the interview:

"I always thought death would come on the freeway in a few horrifying moments, so you'd have no time to sort it out. Having months and months to look at it and think about it and talk to people and hear what they have to say, it's a kind of blessing. It's certainly an opportunity to grow up and get a grip and sort it all out. Just being told by an unsmiling guy in a white coat that you're going to be dead in four months definitely turns on the lights.... It makes life rich and poignant. When it first happened, and I got these diagnoses, I could see the light of eternity, a la William Blake, shining through every leaf. I mean, a bug walking across the ground moved me to tears."

We love you Terence ! Thank you for everything !

We are one with the cosmos whether we realize it or not. Realizing it, though, quickens our spiritual energy and allows us access to higher realms. In those higher realms lies the awareness that we are more than just finite physical beings living one life in one place at one point in time.

Connecting with this awareness is to awaken to the truth and take a step forward, and upward, on our soul's journey. This upward movement is known as ascension because the more we remember who we are and embody that truth, the higher our energy vibrates; we ascend up the scale from the gross physical plane to the subtle spiritual plane.

As we ascend, we gain consciousness of the more subtle aspects of our being, with the ultimate outcome being a complete identification with the light body, an experience of unification with the cosmos.

As you look around you, you will see that many people are not even interested in these ideas. Others are open and paying attention. Still others have devoted their lives to deepening their understanding of the truth. All these people are on the path of ascension, but they will ascend at different rates. Each soul chooses its own path.

The more devoted a person is to remembering and being guided by spirit, the more quickly the soul will ascend. These people are at the forefront of an important process of raising the energetic vibration of the whole planet. The earth, made of the same energy we are, is undergoing this shift along with us. This evolutionary process, while seemingly chaotic at times, is as natural as the process that unfolds a flower from a seed and we are all part of it.

It shouldn't be forgotten that the earth too is on her own ascension path as she is sentient. The best way to support this process in yourself and in the world is simply to relax and be open to its unfolding. Listen to your inner guidance, and let it guide you to the path that brings your heart the most joy.

In light of the myo-electric research demonstrating that cognition takes place outside of the body (placing the physical body and brain squarely in the role of “radio receiver”), I use the analogy of a “thin client” computing system to explain how the Holographic Quantum-Mind (actually a misnomer, as the mind actually exists at the sub-quantum level...but again, for laypeople, the explanation suffices) functions: the body/brain acting as the “dumb terminal” (mixed analogy here, as I explain that, rather than being wired into an ethernet network, as is a thin-client computing system, the brain/body acts as a very sensitive “radio receiver”, with each being “tuned” to its own “sub-quantum holographic hard drive”, the DNA serving in a similar capacity (no pun intended) to a radio’s tuning capacitor, though incredibly more complex), the body’s bio-energy field (“Aura”, Orgone, Chi, Kundalini, Prana — whatever they choose to call it, depending upon their various backgrounds and predispositions) acts as the “antenna” (a bridge to the sub-quantum realm, where their “hard drive” is actually stored — so here, you have your “medium”, so to speak ), and, of course, the “Holographic Sub-Quantum Hard Drive” storing, not only your memories (“data”), but the “programs” that comprise your personality.

I go on from this point to explain that, while the analogy of a “hard drive” is convenient, we are not dealing with an actual physical construct, as the sub-quantum realm exists outside of space-time. I ask them to think of their individual “storage space” as “whirlpools in the river”; i.e., they have their own individual characteristics, but are “composed” of the same “substance” (again, I make clear that we are using analogy, and not speaking literally — many of these people tend to be VERY literal, as you might imagine from their professions!) as the rest of the sub-quantum realm. In other words, their own “personal” holographic storage space, rather than being “partitioned off” from the rest of the sub-quantum realm, is actually part-and-parcel of the holographic “fabric” of the sub-quantum realm. They are able to access their “data” and “programs” strictly by virtue of their physical/energetic resonant signature (I do NOT go into the pcar (phase-conjugate-adaptive-resonance) issue, as their eyes would glass over, and I would lose them: but they can grasp resonance, and especially those familiar with signal routing through fiber-optic networks understand the concept of multiplexing, which builds a mental bridge for them to grasp this concept as applied to consciousness), which is matched to their “hard drive”.

This explains Jung’s “Collective Unconscious”, and the “Akashic Records” of the ancient Tibetans. Further, we can see how supposed “reincarnation” functions: I make the analogy to cordless phones/cell phones and “crossed signals”, due to a crowded frequency spectrum — something with which they are all familiar. While everyone’s physical/energetic signature is unique, there are bound to be certain “overlaps”, which allow a person living NOW to “tap into” the “quantum hard drive” of someone who is “dead”. i.e., that person’s “data” and “programs” still exist in the sub-quantum realm, and are thus available to be “tapped”, providing that one can “get into resonance”, or “tune” to that person’s signature. Mediums do this voluntarily (the trend seems to be to call such people “channelers” these days), while in cases of reincarnation (and, at the extreme end, “possession”), there is a certain amount of resonance purely by chance. Incidentally, this also explains “genetic memory”: as the DNA is so instrumental in the “tuning” process, it can be understood how people of close genetic relation, thus sharing elements of their DNA, may “tap into” ancestors’ memories.

Telepathy can be similarly understood: when two people develop a close rapport, a “resonance” between themselves, their resonant signatures “overlap” to a certain extent, allowing for the “sharing” of “data”, and, in some cases, even their “programs” (personality traits, etc.).

With the audience having “followed the bouncing ball” thus far, and grasped via these analogies the basic concepts I am trying to convey, I inevitably get a question regarding “Astral Projection”/”Remote Viewing” and/or the “Near death Experience” (NDE). Usually, a brief review of the non-local nature of any realm outside of space-time is sufficient to answer questions about remote sensing: since space and time are illusory constructs confined to “space-time”, and the “mind” exists in the sub-quantum realm, OUTSIDE of space-time... (there is usually some “forehead slapping” at this point — in most cases I don’t have to go much further on that issue...).

With NDE, however, I have to get a bit more in-depth. Since the physical body is a tuning mechanism, and does not immediately decay upon physical death, the tuning apparatus remains relatively intact for a period of time. And, if we look at the work of Wilhelm Reich, explaining the energy dynamics of “Orgone” (Chi, Prana, etc.), we can see that the Bio-energy field (“Aura”, etc.) will remain coherent and attached to the physical body for a period of time as well. Thus, our receiver, antenna, and of course, the “sub-quantum hard drive”, are all intact for quite a while after death. During this time, the consciousness may de-focus from space-time, as can also happen during “Astral Travel” and/or “Remote Viewing”...and if the body is revivified, these memories may be retained, and a NDE is then reported.

At this point, questions usually lean toward the more esoteric aspect of Astral Travel/NDE, and the fact that certain constructs seem to be reported by various people: “Christians” may see “Jesus”, or other appropriate religious figures, while Buddhists see Buddha, etc., etc. I explain the “form follows energy” principle, and show that the more mental energy is given to a construct, whether in THIS “space-time” realm, or any other, the more “real” it becomes. Thus, with BILLIONS of human minds lending energy to their various belief systems, it should come as no surprise that people find what they EXPECT to find in the NDE state. I even posit that space-time itself may be the result of a group of entities in the sub-quantum realm having “concocted” space-time, in much the same way that programmers of Virtual Reality systems create “worlds”, either for entertainment, or for university educational programs.

After some metaphysical meanderings along this line, I usually re-cap the main points of the “Holographic Quantum-Mind” theory, and send them on their way. All in all, I have found that people take to this VERY well... almost as if, on some level, they know it to be true... and while most cannot hope to ever comprehend the details of the high-end mathematics and physics involved, they grasp it very well at the intuitive level.
